Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins shared the news with fans via Twitter today, saying, "Even though we are excited about going into our 15th season, it will be our last. Fifteen years of a show that has certainly changed my life. I know it's changed these two guys' [lives]. We just wanted you to hear it from us. Though we're excited about next year, it will be the finale, the big grand finale of an institution."
The actors each tweeted their own farewell to the fans, but they weren't the only stars to chime in on the news. Naturally, when you've been on the show for 15 years, you've hosted a huge slew of talented guests, and Hollywood turned up to mourn the end of the beloved series that so many actors and actresses got to star on over the years.
"One of my most favorite experiences in front of the camera was getting to kick it with The Winchesters many moons ago. @jarpad @JensenAckles you will be missed!" Sterling K. Brown, who guest-starred on the show in Season 2, tweeted.
Jim Beaver, who plays the beloved Bobby Singer, had a hilarious reaction, tweeting, "News of the day: Supernatural is ending at the end of its next season (#15) and the Mueller report was turned in to the Attorney General. Guess which story got my kid's biggest reaction. (Hint: It's the story with REAL demons.)"
Here's a sampling of the outpouring on Twitter and Instagram:

Dear #spnfamily , Season 1 @jensenackles and I want you to know that next season, SEASON 15, will be the last season of #supernatural. I am so incredibly grateful for the family that we've all built together. I love y'all and am more appreciative of y'all than my meager vocabulary could hope to describe. I'm also typing through tears. So, please forgive me. 'Til next time. #WinchestersNeverDie

Well, it's official. One more round for the Winchester brothers. Though nothing ever really ends in Supernatural...does it? 😉 https://t.co/zaZHJX4H9L— Jensen Ackles (@JensenAckles) March 22, 2019

We knew it would happen SOMEday (were we really sure tho?), but this whole video seems like a real example of "this hurts me more than it does you."— Samantha Smith (@SamSmithTweets) March 22, 2019

Tough day. Emotionally. My last episode of @GeneralHospital aired. And @cw_spn announced its final season. I am grateful to all the fantastic casts, crews, and fandoms I have been able meet along the way. It's all those experiences that have helped me grow into the man I am today— matt cohen (@mattcohen4real) March 23, 2019
For 15 episodes over three seasons I tried every trick in the book to end these guys. I finally figured maybe they're immortal. And lo and behold--I was right. Epic. Homeric. Love to cast, writers, crew and fam. @cw_spn #SPNFamily #Supernatural— Curtis Armstrong (@curtisisbooger) March 23, 2019
I love you guys & will always support you! Congratulations on making so many people so happy. Thank you for the long hours. Thank you for the village it takes to create the magic that is #Supernatural ❤— Katherine Ramdeen (@katramdeen) March 23, 2019
I can't say what this show has given me any more than a boat can know what the ocean has given her. Every good thing in my life can be linked to it and the people I know because of it. BUT may the grief of its departure not destroy the joy of its current presence. #SPNFamily #spn— ΞXΓЯΞMΞ ҜIM (@kimrhodes4real) March 23, 2019
