But he's in good company as a one-and-done SNLer
Saturday Night Live featured player Luke Null will not return for Season 44 this fall, Vulture reports.
Null joined the long-running sketch show as a featured player (a sort of junior cast member) last season along with Heidi Gardner and Chris Redd, both of whom are expected to return. Null is a funny and talented comedian, but the show never found a niche for him. It happens. As Vulture notes, he's in good company as an SNL one-season wonder. People who had a cup of coffee on SNL before striking it big elsewhere include Sarah Silverman, Ben Stiller, Jenny Slate, Michaela Watkins, Chris Elliott, Laurie Metcalf, Martin Short, Joan Cusack, and Robert Downey Jr.
Perhaps Null's most memorable appearance came in John Mulaney's episode, in which he and Gardner played a body modification-addicted couple fighting over his decision to remove his horn implants.
