Peter Dinklage received a well deserved Emmy nomination Thursday morning, and in doing so he broke a huge Emmy record.

Since the first season of Game of Thrones, Dinklage has received a nomination for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series every year the show was eligible, and this year is no different. Thursday's nomination puts his total at seven, breaking the record for most nominated performer in this category.

He'd previously been tied with three other actors who had six nominations a piece, but he was the only actor of them to have actually won the award twice. If he wins this year, he'll tie Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul for the most wins in the Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category.

Dinklage missed out on a nomination last year due to Game of Thrones' late premiere date, which disqualified the series from the 2017 competition.

The 70th Primetime Emmy Awardswill air Monday, Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on NBC.
