Premise: Before Aaron Spelling buffed L.A. youths to a 90210 sheen, there was this serial about Malibu teens, starring a pair of TV faces familiar from `Leave It to Beaver' and `Lassie.' The serial, launched on the same day as NBC's `Morning Star' and `Paradise Bay,' went after the younger crowd, which shied away until its replacement---`Dark Shadows'---appeared the following summer.
