ABC has ordered three more scripts for Women's Murder Club, and not a moment too soon, given that a writers' strike could start as early as tomorrow. Cavemen and Big Shots are now the only new ABC series for which the net hasn't ordered additional episodes.... Question: Pushing Daisies, Big Shots, Ugly Betty and of course Desperate Housewives all have this awful, cutesy "Baby Elephant Walk"-style score that turns my stomach. Perhaps if just one show did the campy soundtrack I could bear it, but so many? I compare it to reheated baby puke. It's turned me off these shows completely, but more new shows keep adding vampy, cutesy music. Doesn't ABC care about the oversaturation? Answer: What a great question. Question: Though this question may answer itself by the time you chime in, I have to ask: Why would ABC flip its night around and have Men in Trees end Friday night instead of begin it? I don't have the naysayer's belief that ABC is actually trying to kill the series, but it just makes for odd scheduling: a crime procedural (Women's Murder Club) is going to transition into the whimsical (and fun) Trees?
