Being a patriot means knowing when to protect your country, knowing when to protect your Constitution, knowing when to protect your countrymen, from the violations of and encroachments of adversaries. And those adversaries don't have to be foreign countries."

I can't do that, but I can let series director Pam Fryman tell you that none of the theories floating around online about the ending or The Mother's fate have hit the nail on the head. "People are so sure and they have such an opinion about what they think is going to happen, but nobody is 100 percent right," she says. "I think people will be happy with the way this plays out. Premise: A complex, impeccably acted crime drama set in Baltimore that follows the thread of a single police investigation, from the perspectives of both law-enforcement officials and the criminals they're pursuing. The Peabody-winning series was created by David Simon (`The Corner'), whose richly layered plotlines focused on the city's illegal drug trade in the first season before expanding in scope for the second to include corruption on the waterfront.
