Bad Girl Gets Big Brother's First Boot

Alison Irwin, Big Brother 7: All-Stars

Alison Irwin earned a reputation as a backstabbing flirt during her stint on CBS' Big Brother 4, so it isn't all that surprising that her attempts at scheming with Danielle in a failed plan to oust Janelle caused her to be the first booted out the front door of  Big Brother 7: All-Stars (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 8 pm/ET). TVGuide.com caught up with Alison — who also had a hated turn on The Amazing Race 5 — the day after her eviction, to find out how she feels about her bad-girl rep.

Battlestar Galactica One thing...

Battlestar Galactica One thing I've learned doing this job is that I develop biases to the point of blindness. Take this show. After one subpar episode, a return to form and then another so-so installment (the hostage crisis), I was beginning to worry. Still, I didn't give the Galactica folks too hard a time when I would've blasted lesser shows for committing the same sins, because I wanted to believe it was just a couple of hiccups. And right I was. This was one of the good ones, with the "barely competent and paranoid" Garner creating strife as commander of "the beast" (Pegasus), Roslin tackling her reelection and the abortion question, and then Garner leading his ship directly into a Cylon trap. If Apollo and Starbuck hadn't been onboard, I would've assumed this was the writers' chance to take Pegasus out of the picture and restore Galactica to its lone-wolf status. But I was p read more

WITHOUT A PRAYER

Aidan Quinn in The Book of Daniel

Tuesday brought news of not one, not two, but a holy trinity of shelved series. Despite a riveting cameo by TV Guide's own former Party Boy, Daniel R. Coleridge, TNT has canceled Wanted, while ABC has brought Jake in Progress to a halt. (Think John Stamos has called ER yet to let them know he's available? Two words for you: Ask Ausiello.) Lastly, NBC has slammed shut The Book of Daniel, "due to many reasons," series creator Jack Kenny reports in a message to fans at NBC.com. Now, before the American Family Association gets all full of itself, their efforts had little to do with Daniel's demise, a reliable source tells us; rather, the ratings were just sinfully bad. read more

Did you happen to catch my crackhead...

Did you happen to catch my crackhead cameo Monday night on TNT's Wanted? Some of my adoring fans (OK, my mom) were confused due to a very last-minute TNT scheduling switcheroo. My episode, "Lips are Lips," actually aired at 12 am/ET rather than at 10 pm/ET, as the cabler originally announced. But I'm not bitter.

Never fear, I'll give you a heads up when the episode reruns. Meanwhile, peek into my Wanted Set Diary to see exclusive photos and learn all about my smokin'-hot acting debut. And remember, kids: Just say no! read more

While daytime soaps are Daniel...

While daytime soaps are Daniel R. Coleridge's first love — the "R" stands for romance! — I do still dabble in prime-time TV. In fact, this TVGuide.com reporter recently ventured on camera as well as behind the scenes at TNT's cop drama Wanted. Peek into my Wanted Set Diary to see exclusive photos and learn all about my smokin'-hot role as a crackhead in the Dec. 5 episode. It's not every journalist who can say he's been arrested in a crack house. Mom is so proud. read more

One more question about TNT's ...

Question: One more question about TNT's Wanted, please. With my triple VCR recordings I've been enjoying this series, but I thought 13 episodes were ordered. According to my latest listings, it shows Monday, Sept. 19, as the first-season finale. That would make it only eight episodes. Do you know the scoop? Answer: According to TNT, the last original episode of Wanted — at least for a while — will air Sunday, Sept. 18, opposite the Emmys. If Wanted were to stay on beyond that, the show would face major network first-run new-season competition on Sundays, including Grey's Anatomy, and the ratings would be, well, "wanting." It's not unusual for cable networks to split the seasons of their original shows so that new episodes air during less congested times. The remaining five episodes of Wanted are likely to air in December, away from the crush of season premieres and November sweeps ... read more

I was just reading your ...

Question: I was just reading your opinion of Wanted because I was curious to see what you thought. You see, I am a Dead Zone fan — it's on my "can't miss" list, and I think Anthony Michael Hall gives a great performance as John Smith. Since it is on at the same time as Wanted, I haven't been able to see an episode, despite TNT's reairings. While I realize the season finale of The Dead Zone just aired this past week, I was wondering: Since I never see anything in your column about this show, which would you rather watch Sundays at 10: The Dead Zone or Wanted? Answer: Sadly, neither. The reason you don't see much about Dead Zone in the column should be pretty obvious. It just doesn't work for me on a weekly basis, though it's doing just fine for USA, so it doesn't really matter what I think. The cast, with the possible exception of Hall, is so bland, and they've dragged out the Stillson/apocalypse story line so slowly that I've simply lost interest. But to be generous, it seems to me that ... read more

Star Hopes Wanted Is Wanted

Lee Tergesen

Having played a thug in Point Break, inmate Tobias Beecher on HBO's Oz and a rapist in Monster (his character's brutal assault triggers Charlize Theron's killing spree), Lee Tergesen is glad to be living on the right side of the law as U.S. Marshal Eddie Drake on TNT's Wanted (Sundays at 10 pm/ET). Here he speaks with TVGuide.com about Weird fans, the deep fear he had working with Patrick Swayze and how he wishes he were more like Gary Cole. TVGuide.com: Hey, you're the "I love you, man!" guy from the read more

Now that the first few ...

Question: Now that the first few episodes have aired, what is your opinion of TNT's Wanted?
Answer: Pretty much what it was when I filed my initial review, based on having seen the first three episodes. I watched the fourth episode last weekend, and am not that keen about staying with it to the end. The flashy camerawork and music-video editing aren't enough to mask the generic nature of the violent stories and the macho characters, although Gary Cole and Lee Tergesen are, as always, worth watching, even if I'm bored stiff with the dour details of Cole's unhappy personal life. It's not a very relaxing way to finish a long Sunday night of viewing, but then, it isn't meant to be. (I prefer The Closer, as do several million others. ... read more

Mike Brady Is Now a Wanted Man

Wanted

"You know, kids, a wise man once said...." So started many an ill-spoken piece of advice from patriarch Mike to his brood in The Brady Bunch Movie and its sequels. Long before and ever since he sported that memorable perm, journeyman actor Gary Cole has tackled a wide range of TV and feature roles, even earning a cult following with his turn as boss man Bill Lumbergh in 1999's Office Space. Now Cole is breaking away from camp and satire — and packing serious heat — as Conrad Rose, the leader of an elite team of lawmen tracking Los Angeles' 100 most dangerous fugitives in Wanted, TNT's new crime drama (premiering Sunday at 10pm/ET).  TVGuide: You’ve got to be excited; this is your first badass role in a while, isn’t it? read more
