Larry Gelbart (`M*A*S*H') conceived this seriocomic study of a marriage and its pressures. It was a short-lived but unusually intelligent and frank show (with no laugh track), whose scripts, Gelbart wrote in his memoirs, `Laughing Matters,' `turned out to be emotional X rays.'
