CBS Announces Finale Dates

Criminal Minds

On May 16, Criminal Minds fans will be treated to a special two-hour season finale, CBS announced Thursday. The network also announced finale dates for other fan favorites such as The Good Wife (April 29, 9/8c), The Big Bang Theory (May 10, 8/7c) and How I Met Your Mother (May 14, 8/7c).

Ratings: Giants-49ers Game Grabs Huge Audience for Fox

Fox's NFC Championship that saw the New York Giants beat the San Francisco 49ers in sudden-death overtime grabbed a huge audience that's becoming typical for the conference championship game that airs in prime time, according to preliminary Nielsen data.

Dan Bell, a Fox Sports vice president, tweeted that the game was the highest rated NFC title game in 17 years (going back to the 1995 game when the 49ers played the Dallas Cowboys).

Ratings: Golden Globes Decline Slightly; Fox Benefits from Football Overrun

Viewership for the 69th Golden Globe Awards ceremony declined slightly to 16.8 million vs. last year's 17 million, according to time zone-adjusted, preliminary Nielsen figures.

The show also fell a little in the industry-coveted demo of 18-to-49-year-olds — to 5.0 from 5.2 (last year's final figure).

The 20th season of The Amazing Race will premiere on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 8/7c, CBS announced Thursday. Also, the new season of Undercover Boss premieres on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 8/7c, but will make way for the Emmy-winning Amazing Race by moving to its new berth on Fridays at 8/7c beginning Feb. 17.

Ratings: Bruins’ Stanley Cup Win Ties Record

Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals tied the record for the highest overnight ratings ever for a seventh Cup game and skated to victory over the competition on network television, averaging 8.05 million viewers for NBC.

The Boston Bruins' 4-0 win over the Vancouver Canucks was 14 percent higher than the last Game 7 in 2009. It got a 5.7 overnight rating and 10 share, tying the 2003 Game 7 between Anaheim Ducks and New Jersey Devils.
