Barack Obama to Get Up Close and Personal on The View | Today's News: Our Take | 3/19/2008
On Friday, March 28, Barack Obama will be dishing and discussing the issues on ABC's The View (11 am/ET) in what the show is billing as a "no-holds-barred" interview. The presidential candidate last joined the morning show in November 2004 to promote his book. This time around, Obama will be covering a range of topics from the personal to the political including his relationship with his wife and family, his recent remarks on race, the Iraq war and his views on religion and life on the campaign trail, among other things."I am really looking forward to my return visit to sit down with the ladies of The View," he said.Obama's interview will be pre-taped on Thursday, March 27, but airs the next day, in an episode of the program that promises to focus largely on the candidate. Tyra, CW Design a Devil Wears Prada-esque Show | Today's News: Our Take | 1/30/2008
The CW has ordered eight episodes of a competitive reality series from America's Next Top Model executive producers Tyra Banks and Ken Mok (among others). The as-yet-untitled show, to start production in April for a summer launch, is described by the Reporter as "The Devil Wears Prada meets The Assistant," as aspiring Andy Sachses compete for a job at a major fashion mag TBD. In fact, one weekly challenge involves getting a compelling performance out of Adrian Grenier teams of two preparing a page for "The Book," with the losing pair bidding adieu to one player. read more

Hillary Clinton Talks Adultery with Tyra | Today's News: Our Take | 1/15/2008
While taping an appearance on the Tyra Banks Show, Sen. Hillary Clinton got frank about Bill and what went down when his marital infidelity was revealed, according to a People.com transcript.During the conversation, Sen. Clinton opened up about how she made the decision to stay with her then-president husband through the turmoil, saying she "really had to dig down deep and think hard about what was right for me, what was right for my family." Clinton also emphasized that handling infidelity is a personal decision, and each person's situation is unique. "You have to be true to yourself.... You have to do what is right for you," she added. Big props to Hillary for opening up, but a bigger high-five to Tyra for getting down to some tough talk on relationships with a woman who's seen it all. Banks for president, anyone? Episode Recap: "The Girl Who Goes Bald" This week's recap by Ben KatnerWow, my first time subbing as TVGuide.com's America's Next Top Model recapper, and I get makeover week. Scary. Be gentle with me, people.The episode starts out with Victoria saying for the umpteenth time that it didn't occur to her until recently that modeling might be a kick in the smarty-pants, and I'm not buying it. I mean, if she'd ever even considered trying out for this show, she'd have known that the wannabes, not to mention Miss Tyra, have major hate-ons for girls who don't sob openly about how walking down a runway in clothes you'd never see anyone wear on the street has been their dream since they were in utero.Meanwhile, Saleisha clearly forgetting that once you say you won't you most certainly will announces that she's not ever going to be in the bottom two. Telepictures is having "serious conversations" about relocating Tyra Banks' two-year-old talker, and perhaps subsequently America's Next Top Model, to Manhattan, Variety reports. Sources tell the trade the motive behind the move is to bring a different energy and guest pool to Banks' daytime show, which has already been reupped for third and fourth seasons.
