Apart from squabbling among the children, Ron and Ellen Freeman had to deal with her cranky mother, who disapproved of their union. Fox promoted the series with the line `It ain't `The Brady Bunch'.' Cleavon Little replaced Frankie Faison for the show's second and final season.
