Mike and Lisa have their hands full dealing with the teen angst their hot new babysitter brings along with her. Meanwhile, Callie's naked dancing in the apartment is accidentally witnessed by a food-delivery guy (Daryl "Chill" Mitchell), prompting Adam to discuss some of the bare facts of life with her; and the guys dog Ethan about ditching his ugly necklace.
The guys' annual getaway approaches and Mike thinks they should go hunting in order to get back to their primitive roots, but Ethan and Mike are having trouble taking him seriously. Meanwhile, Lisa feels that Tommy is growing up too quickly and wants to chronicle his early childhood in photos. Callie offers her photography expertise to capture the moments, but the women overlook setting a price for the service and that poses a problem for their friendship.
Lisa and Mike's relationship takes off in a new direction when she decides to keep tabs on him via GPS technology. Meanwhile, Adam's boss assigns him an article on intimacy, and when Callie uncovers his notes, she thinks the provocative material is for use in putting some zing into their sex life. And Ethan's organ delivery winds up in the wrong place and with the wrong people.
Adam and Callie's opportunity to babysit Tommy doesn't go according to plan, while Mike and Lisa's romantic weekend getaway gets out of hand when Mike has a problem with his masseuse. As for Ethan, he's got yet another new woman in his life, and she seems perfect---almost.
Adam tries to atone for ruining Mike's bachelor party years ago by throwing him a second one, which gets out of hand. Meanwhile, Lisa is uncomfortable about having to go on an out-of-town project with a male coworker, so she asks Callie to come along.
When Callie's visiting sister shows signs of overstaying her welcome, Adam scores her a job at his office, where she hooks up with the boss. Elsewhere, Ethan saves Lisa's life at a swimming pool and is rewarded with Mike's favorite college T-shirt.
Mike is bummed to learn Lisa's pay raise makes her the top wage earner in the family, so he lobbies his boss for just enough of a salary bump to restore him to No. 1. Meanwhile, Callie's sexually charged sister proves to be more than Ethan can handle; and Adam finally decides to deal with his bathroom phobia.
Adam feels responsible after Callie's car is stolen, so he decides to buy her a new one. At the dealership, he receives a crash course in negotiating with automobile salesmen when he enlists Ethan and Mike to handle the wheeling and dealing. Later, Mike and Lisa are visited by his grown-up charge from a mentoring program he volunteered for years ago.
Adam unintentionally takes credit for finding a lost puppy belonging to his and Callie's elderly neighbors, and the grateful woman proves to be exceptionally generous with her thanks. Elsewhere, Lisa complains about a music-blaring neighbor and Mike's plan to confront the noisemaker doesn't turn out as planned; Ethan's girlfriend wishes to make the acquaintance of his sage next-door neighbor.
When Adam confronts Callie about a wealth of unpaid parking fines, he discovers something more disturbing: she is actually more than $40,000 in debt. Meanwhile, Lisa has to go into the office early for a week, turning Mike into Mr. Mom, who settles in nicely with the neighborhood mommy group; and Ethan comes up with a clever exit strategy to break up with his latest girlfriend, but it backfires on him.
Mike offers work advice to a young female colleague who's also attractive, sports-savvy, and fits right in with him and the guys. When their meetings become more frequent, Lisa decides to join in, but she's not ready for the woman's unusual offer. Meanwhile, Callie decides to communicate with Adam during his morning commute to work; and Ethan tries to downplay the fact that his relationship with a new girl may be serious.
Callie is doggone upset when she can't find a favorite stuffed pup that Adam won for her when they first started dating, so he tries to win a replacement prize before she learns that he, Mike and Ethan are responsible for the toy's disappearance. Meanwhile, at a charity tennis tournament hosted by Lisa's company, she partners with Ethan's ex-girlfriend to form a formidable doubles team.
