"Can you put her on the cover?" Mickie Wood asks me as we finish our conversation about her 6-year-old daughter, Eden Wood, who makes her fifth overall appearance (and third as "a feature") on Wednesday's Season 4 premiere of Toddlers & Tiaras (TLC, 10/9c). When Wood realizes this interview is for a website not a magazine, she's much less pushy than you might expect for someone who fits the profile of "stage mom." She has "somewhat of a smattering" of a pageant history herself and started orchestrating Eden's pageant career when her daughter was just over a year old.
Wood is just as much of a character on the phone as her daughter has to be onstage. She starts the conversation singing Tony Basil's "Mickey" (in reference to her own name), describes her daughter as kicking some "bootay" onstage, exhibits the savvy of a reality-TV vet and expresses befuddlement over Leah Remini describing her daughter as "luscious" after she performed her must-be-heard-to-be-believed song "Cutie Patootie" on The Talk last year.
We talked to Wood about pageant stigma, facials for 6-year-olds and why Eden's beauty queen days may be numbered...

13. Worst 'Do: On Bethenny Ever After, Bethenny and Jason travel to his tiny Pennsylvania hometown, where she meets Brian, one of Jason's close friends. Brian, a die-hard Bon Jovi fan who is wearing an "I Heart Hot Moms" shirt, explains that he gets his hair bleached in Philadelphia to to look like his idol, Jon Bon Jovi. Bethenny speaks for all of us when she asks: "Brian drives 120 miles to get his hair done, and this is what [he comes] back with?"
12. Most Deceitful: After Mrs. Marin discovers that secret-houseguest-turned-boyfriend Caleb is...
TLC is hitting the pre-teen party circuit. Outrageous Kid Parties, the cable network's next series, will deliver exactly what the title promises: a look inside big-budget, out-of-control kiddie parties. Insiders describe it as a cross between TLC's Toddlers and Tiaras and MTV's My Super Sweet 16.
Toddlers & Tiaras
Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be pageant queens!
Toddlers & Tiaras returned last night for its third season and once again, we got a peek into a world where the wild things are spray-tanned, over-indulged and just plain awful. None more so than the little slice of Hell known as Makenzie. Four-years-old, finger-wavingly disrespectful and physically abusive toward her own deluded mother, this little monster made the Real Housewives look like Seventh-Day Adventists.

TBS complements its Tyler Perry-infused Wednesday-night lineup with this newly minted sitcom based on the 2005 film of the same name. Rapper-actor Ice Cube, star of the film, is an executive producer of the family-themed affair, which tracks newlywed couple Nick and Suzanne (Terry Crews, Essence Atkins) and their two children as they face various blended-family obstacles. In the premiere, Nick comes to believe that the kids don't love him, and Suzanne updates her name — complete with a hyphen. In a second episode that follows, cash flow problems strike the family when Suzanne's credit issues come to the surface.
