2004, TV Show

A cross section of voters around the country take part in 17 "citizen deliberation" forums on presidential-campaign issues. Jim Lehrer anchors excerpts from them. The forums (most of which were taped Oct. 16, 2004) were sponsored by PBS stations and community and university organizations. They consist of town-hall-type meetings of 125 or so people, and smaller sessions featuring experts and ordinary citizens, with each forum covering roughly the same economic and national-security issues.
