Season 3, Episode 22
When New York City suffers a blackout, Sully prophetically warns the more optimistic Davis that people will cause trouble. While Doc and Carlos check on housebound elderly people, their ambulance burns up because Carlos left the engine running. A wealthy old man, Albert Jacobs (FRANK RAITER), offers them a large amount of money to stay with him until his daughter arrives, but the paramedics must leave. Bosco arrests a loitering young man, Latrell Griffith (J.D. JACKSON), and faces a difficult decision when an immigrant shop owner shoots and wounds a teenage shoplifter and only Latrell, a former medic, can save the victim. A riot ensues, and nightfall brings more unrest as the nervous cops try to keep the peace. Meanwhile, Yokas and Fred get stranded in a dark elevator when the blackout occurs. Fred has a heart attack before they can be rescued.

Season 3, Episode 21
Eight months after the World Trade Center disaster, Taylor learns that the body of her father, a fellow firefighter, has been recovered from the site. She has an emotional reunion with her mother, Beth (VERONICA HAMEL - 'Hill Street Blues'), and uncle, Mike (BRUCE WEITZ - 'Hill Street Blues'), along with her father's best friend, Tommy (ED MARINARO - 'Hill Street Blues'). Meanwhile, Sully becomes obsessed with learning the sordid details of Tatiana's secret past--and he discovers that it involves his bitter enemy, Russian mobster Fyodor Chevchenko (recurring guest star ROY SCHEIDER). And Yokas and Bosco carefully observe David Frisker (MATTHEW BEISNER), a man who was convicted of raping elderly women but released due to a technicality in his court case.

In the conclusion of a two-part crossover story line begun in 'ER' episode #227269, 'Brothers & Sisters,' Dr. Susan Lewis has traveled from Chicago to New York to search for her missing 6-year-old niece, Suzy.

Season 3, Episode 19
A conflicted Carlos struggles to overcome his prejudice against a nurturing white family that wants to adopt the baby girl that he just discovered is his. He must resist his own desire to care for her. Meanwhile, Taylor and Kim clash with a surly emergency room doctor, Dr. Peterson (STEPHEN SINGER), who questions their medical opinions. Yokas and Sully conspire to capture some Russian criminals. Yokas and her husband, Fred, continue having marital difficulties.
