The Voice: The Final Four Perform —and Adam Kills Christina with Kindness Season 2, Episode 20

It's the final performance night of The Voice! This is the moment that all four singers have been working towards since the blind auditions. But more importantly, this is one of the last times fans will be able to hear Christina and Adam go at it on live TV without any editing. And they do not disappoint. Christina comes armed with a fresh round of Tony insults, but Adam also brings his A-game — and a very special accessory — to take the diva off guard. So who wins their latest battle? Which singer raises up their coach? And which contestant is singing sick? Let's find out:

Jermaine Paul, "I Believe I Can Fly"
Tonight is all about pulling out the stops, but picking this slightly schmaltzy and... read more

The Voice: Who Made It to the Finals? Season 2, Episode 19

Tonight is the night. Four will make it to The Voice finals and four will go home. The results show features performances from last year's four finalists — including an vocal performance from Cyndi Lauper that hurts my ears beyond description — but we're going to stick to the results. So which coaches put equal support behind both of their singers? And which played favorites? Let's see, shall we:

But first things first, my obligatory fast take on Christina's fashions: She's sporting a weird wraparound gold headband thing that actually looks really cute (it looks better than the tiara, amirite?), but there's too... read more

The Voice Episode Recap: How You Like Tony Lucca Now, Christina? Season 2, Episode 18

Out there somewhere in the world, Christina Aguilera's stylist is standing out in the rain clutching a photo of Christina from three weeks and crying. The big hair! The tiara! The make-up! And no pants....again! How many divas can pull that off, not once but twice? Also, who on this show let Adam hide his abs under that hideous baggy sweater that looks like it was born out of the back of some hippie's van? Come on, NBC, you need all the ratings juice you can get, yes? Ok, enough obsessing over wardrobe. This is the semi-finals, which means the first time all four teams' singers will be performing on the same night. So let's get to the performances:

Tony Lucca, "How Ya Like Me Now?"
In Tony's practice footage, he talks about how this competition is not... read more

The Voice Episode Recap: Mathai Goes Country and Christina Continues to Hate Tony Lucca Season 2, Episode 17

Adam says he's received death threats and had several people try to take his life since he cut fan favorite Pip on Monday's show. "I'm very sad about that," he says half-jokingly. However, Adam quickly gets down to brass tacks and seems torn about whom he is going to have to choose between even before America's save is announced. Now a quick performance from Florence + the Machine and onto the results...

Team Adam:

America's save is — no surprise — Tony Lucca! Was there ever a doubt in anyone's mind that it wouldn't be him? Either way, it's now Katrina Parker vs. Mathai for who gets Adam's save.

Mathai, "Cowboy Casanova"
Why did Mathai pick a country song now of all times? Tonight is when she... read more

The Voice: Cee Lo Follows His Fart and Tony Lucca Stares Down His MMC Roots Season 2, Episode 16

The live show starts out with a major case of the giggles on stage — and a big old curse bomb from Cee Lo. Is that a way to lighten the mood before the instant eliminations? Or is this the judges' pre-gaming ways coming out? Nope! Turns out it's Cee Lo's gas! Good thing, X-Tina has that handy fan, and that Purrfect isn't around to have to tolerate that smell. Christina tells Adam and Cee Lo to "go with their gut" on the instant eliminations before someone adds "follow your fart." On that note, let's get... read more

The Voice Episode Recap: Christina Gets Emotional and Blake Makes a Surprising Save Season 2, Episode 15

Christina gets defensive after Carson starts off the night by recalling her controversial decision to send Jesse Campbell home. Adam Levine — shock! — defends her and she seems to have no regrets about what has been the most controversial exit this season. Let's fast-forward through the random performance and the Justin Bieber music video sneak preview (really, we can't see the whole thing? Someone told the Biebs that MTV hasn't played a music video since 2006, yes?) OK, seriously, let's do this:

The Voice: Christina's Bustier Steals the Show and the Instant Eliminations Get Vicious Season 2, Episode 14

Um, OK so who let Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton break into the Costco supply of self-tanning cream? Yikes! However, we all know the real question is this week is just how these instant eliminations are going to work. So let's figure that together, shall we?

RaeLynn, "She's Country"
This performance is a little more predictable compared to her rendition of Maroon 5 a few weeks back, but she does a much better job of providing a great, lively stage show without sacrificing her vocals. Last time, every time she moved around on the stage, her pipes got a little unstable. This time, she's perfect from start to finish. Christina says RaeLynn is a "little badass" who makes her want to sing... read more

The Voice Episode Recap: Did America Do the Right Thing? Season 2, Episode 13

After Monday's live performances on The Voice, America had it so easy. Save Tony Lucca (who already survived Christina's bullets last night), Juliet, Mathai and Jamar and throw everyone else into the fire. That's right, we don't need any saves this week. We don't even need a third singer for each team! But did the viewers actually do the right thing? Or did they get distracted by the half-naked Egyptian dancers and the Adele look-alikes? Let's skip over that Jessie J. performance and get right to the results:

Team Adam learns their fate first:
Safe: Mathai, Tony Lucca and Pip

Team Cee Lo is next:
Safe: Juliet Simms, Jamar Rogers and James Massone

Which means the remaining singers now have to perform (even though they just should all go home now). Kidding! Kind of. Actually... read more

The Voice Episode Recap: Christina Aguilera Starts a War and Blake Goes to Bonertown Season 2, Episode 12

When historians look back at this season of The Voice years and years from now, there will be two distinct chapters: Before Tonight's Episode (BTE), when everyone loved Christina Aguilera, and After Tonight's Episode (ATE), when every Tony Lucca fan declared war on his former fellow MMC-er for her comments. She cut Tony the deepest, but tonight all the judges decided to get brutally honest (minus Cee Lo, obviously).

And it wasn't pretty:

Katrina Parker, "Tonight, Tonight"
Adam's biggest remark to Katrina during the practice rounds is to be Katrina, not Adele. And yet, as my colleagues point out, the stylists make Katrina look like Adele's stateside twin. OK. But that is not the biggest question. The biggest question is why she chose this song? It really does nada for... read more

The Voice Episode Recap: So This Is What a Results Show Looks Like… Season 2, Episode 11

Alright, Voice fans. We are officially venturing into uncharted territory with these live results shows. Will they feel as staged as Idol? Or as overly dramatic as The X Factor? Turns out, it's a little bit of both!

After a performance from Gym Class Heroes, both Blake and Christina are shown taking their singers under their wings and teaching them about the media. Blake brings his team along to a country radio station, while Christina sends hers along to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Awww, bonding in front of the harsh glare of the spotlight! It's at least more useful than taking budding singers to a film premiere... read more

Four vocal coaches mentor the contestants in three distinct competition phases: the blind auditions (during which the coaches can't see a contestant and thereby judge them solely on their vocal talent); the battle phase (in which the contestants are advised and developed); and, lastly, the live-performance phase.
