It's time for one of the competition's front-runners to take on a young hungry athlete in the third quarterfinal matchup. On fight day, they both enter the octagon confident in their abilities to win the fight. An entertaining bout reveals the third semifinalist. The remaining two quarterfinalists make weight and face off. The day of the fight, the underdog believes that she has the edge anywhere the fight goes while the favorite gets emotional feeling the pressure to perform for her family back home. The two fighters engage in a gruesome battle with the winner claiming the last semifinal spot. Then, the coaches announce the final matchups, which will determine the two fighters who get to move on to the live finale and compete for the inaugural UFC Women's flyweight belt.

After the exciting preliminary round of fights comes to an end, UFC President Dana White rewards both teams with a night-time boat cruise on Lake Las Vegas. The fighters and coaches relax and unwind before the quarterfinal rounds gets underway. In the first quarterfinal matchup, two teammates from very different backgrounds face off in the Octagon. While one is making a career comeback and looking for redemption, the other hopes to launch her career and get herself out of personal struggles she's been dealing with. In the days leading up to the second fight, also between teammates, one fighter struggles with her weight cut. Despite help from the coaches and other fighters, her weight issue puts her future in the tournament in jeopardy, possibly opening the door for another fighter to re-enter the competition.

With only one preliminary fight left, Coach Alvarez and his team turn their attention to their next fighter. They put her through intense striking sessions at the Performance Institute, preparing her to keep the fight standing and avoiding the takedown at all costs. That night at the house, Lauren Murphy speaks to a teammate and makes the decision to leave Team Alvarez and go train with Team Gaethje. Meanwhile, the blue team's next competitor talks to her housemates about her difficult childhood and, through home video footage, shares the details of her current life. The following morning, Lauren makes an announcement to the rest of her team before heading to the gym to join the blue team. After they welcome her with open arms, they shift their focus to preparing their upcoming fighter, who has to contend with a painful injury going into her fight. After the training session, Lauren seeks out Coach Alvarez to tell him about her decision and sparks fly between them. The time has come for the coaches challenge and both teams meet up with Dana White at a local pool to watch Eddie and Justin go head to head in an intense race. Eddie and Justin give it their all in the hopes of winning $10,000 for themselves and $1,500 for each of their fighters. As fight day approaches, Team Alvarez's fighter opens up about her life back home with her son. The weigh-in ends with an intense stare down between the two flyweights. The next day, the fight determines who moves on to the next round and the quarterfinals are announced.

While the women hang out at the house after the most recent preliminary fight, UFC President Dana White pays them a surprise visit. After giving them a tour of his one-of-a-kind BMW, he chats with them about the positive impact female fighters have had on the UFC, and what the future may have in store for them within the organization. The next day at practice, one of the fighters who's nursing an injury presents coach Eddie Alvarez with a personalized training plan to help her prepare for her upcoming fight. While Eddie's reluctant, he decides to go along with the plan. The seventh preliminary fight pits two fighters from very different backgrounds against each other. While one comes from a country overseas with very little MMA history, the other is a judo champion and cheerleader from the Hawaiian Islands. After days of preparation, the women face off in the Octagon with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.
