FX Chief Weighs In on Violence on TV, It's Always Sunny and Anger Management

"I'm a really curious person ... I'd be interested in studies on violence in entertainment and the correlation of violence in real life," FX chief John Landgraf told reporters at the FX winter previews Wednesday. "If we find meaningful correlations, we should act on those correlations."

Landgraf, whose network airs the sometimes brutally violent Sons of Anarchy, was responding to the inevitable questions about violence and responsibility question that has been prevalent at the Television Critics Association tour this month. Although he pointed out that the U.S. and U.K. consume the same violent media (The Walking Dead is the No. 1 cable show in England), violent gun deaths are significantly higher in the States. He theorized that it is differences in the countries' gun-control policies ...  read full article

Joe Rogan: Thieving Comics Are No Laughing Matter

Not so long ago, Joe Rogan was talking people into eating bugs and jumping out of planes as the host of Fear Factor. Since then, he's returned to his stand-up comedy roots with the CD Shiny Happy Jihad (released April 10) and a new Showtime special airing tonight at 9 pm/ET. He's also been no stranger to confrontation — serving as a color commentator on Spike TV's broadcasts of UFC bouts and advocating a crackdown on comedians he believes plagiarize material. TVGuide.com: Your Joe Rogan: Live special starts off with a microbiological metaphor for Los Angeles, and you deal with existential issues throughout. It's not quite what you'd expect from a guy who hosted read more

South of Nowhere Heartthrob Matt Cohen Speaks Out

On The N's South of Nowhere (Fridays at 8:30 pm/ET), Aiden seems like the dream boyfriend — loyal and giving, a gent who treats the women he dates with respect. Alas, he gets little in return. He's got Madison, who dumped him like a hot potato for the new kid last season, and who now sabotages his relationships to win him back; Kyla, the pretty new girl in town who conveniently forgot she had a boyfriend; and Spencer and Ashley, who left him to... be with each other. TVGuide.com caught up with Aiden's equally sweet portrayer, Matt Cohen, to find out what could possibly be next for him in this dramatic but convoluted teen drama. TVGuide.com: There is some really insane stuff going on right now on South of Nowhere.Matt Cohen: It is craziness. I can tell you from here on out that it gets a little wil read more
