Kathy and Paris Hilton
"There are things on the show that, in a million years, I never thought I would show on camera," Paris Hilton told reporters Friday at NBC's Summer Press Day. "I put my producer hat on and thought this is great TV."
But what does Hilton think viewers will be most surprised to see on her new series? "How down to earth and sweet I am," she said.

Simple Life 5 courtesy E! Entertainment
The Simple Life is over for Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. The Aug. 5 episode will be the last for the reality series that featured the rich gals taking jobs and mixing with common folks. Ratings for The Simple Life, which started on Fox back in 2003 and now airs on E!, declined while Hilton's DUI case and subsequent imprisonment became an ongoing cable-news saga. A source at E! said there are no plans to launch a new program with Hilton, citing her recent overexposure. "She needs to take a TV nap," the source said. Reporting by Stephen Battaglio

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie in The Simple Life Goes to Camp by Brandon Hickman/E! Entertainment
Paris Hilton's overexposed... time behind bars didn't just take its toll on the heiress' day-to-day managing of her corporate empire, but it also crippled the ratings for The Simple Life, which this season presented Par and Nicole as camp(y) counselors. "We all thought the publicity would help the show; we were wrong. It's not doing well," TV Week quotes E! CEO ("CE!O"?) Ted Harbert as saying at a TCA function. Harbert explained that people watched Simple Life to see what Paris was really like, but no longer need the show to do that. As such, "I'm not sure we're going to do any more [seasons]. It's a 50-50 chance," he shared. "In fact, you can say it's 51-49 against."You can thank me for Today's News' endless coverage of Paris by sending M&Ms (any variety) to my office.
After weeks of rumors, TMZ has confirmed that Nicole Richie is indeed pregnant. The Simple Life star has been dating Good Charlotte's Joel Madden for more than six months.
Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, The Simple Life
The Simple Life takes on a whole new meaning as heiresses Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie substitute mansions for pup tents in The Simple Life Goes to Camp. Premiering Monday at 10 pm/ET (before settling into its regular Sundays-at-10 slot), the E! series' fifth romp is set in the Malibu Mountains at Camp Shawnee. Ersatz counselors Paris and Nicole join campers of assorted ages and goals as various theme weeks unfold. To name a few, there's a Wellness Camp led by Susan "Stop the Insanity" Powter, Couples Camp under the guidance of love expert Dr. Diana Kirschner, and Drama Camp directed by the Oscar-nominated Sally Kirkland
Though she would appear to be bound for the clink, Paris Hilton (in tandem with reality sidekick Nicole Richie) thus far is still on the books to take their Simple Life-pimping tour to Letterman (on June 6) and Regis & Kelly (the morning after). Still, the New York Daily News hears, insiders at each talker won't be surprised if the stop-bys were scrapped, should justice actually be served.Speaking of that fickle lady (justice, not Paris), a spokesperson for Governor Schwarzenegger who reportedly has been beseeched to intervene on this country-crippling case and pardon the celebunot tells the News that Grandpa W. Barron Hilton's campaign contributions over the years (totaling some $59,600) will not factor into any potential action. Besides, the flack notes, "There are legal remedies for [Paris] to pursue before the governor would get involved." (As opposed to the over-the-counter remedies she may be more familiar with.)Should Paris serve time? Vote here.
The fourth season of E!'s The Simple Life, now in production, will not only proffer Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie as camp counselors, but in one specific instance have the wafer-thin celebunots mentoring overweight kids. A rep for the reality series, though, insists to the New York Post's Page Six that the stop isn't at a "fat camp" per se, but a "wellness camp focused on eating right, yoga, nutrition and exercise." Add in "crotch flashing" and "drunk driving," and I think the gals can really get somewhere with these rugrats.
