Premise: Cranky but likable L.A. PI Jim Rockford pulled no punches (but took plenty of them) in this popular 1970s series, which won the star an Emmy and brought the character back in several TV-movies. Rockford was an ex-con (sent to the slammer for a crime he didn't commit) who took on cases others didn't want. He was aided by his tough old man, his lawyer girlfriend and some shady associates from his past.
