The story of cosmetics-industry pioneers Elizabeth Arden (1884-1966) and Helena Rubinstein (1871-1965). In 1907, Arden moved to NYC from Ontario, where she opened a salon in 1910. The Poland-born Rubinstein immigrated to Australia, where she opened a shop in 1906 to sell a moisturizing cream; within a decade, she had salons in Paris, London and New York. Interviews include author Lindy Woodhead ("Warpaint"); model Twiggy Lawson; former Arden employees; and historians.
