Pioneering private investigator Precious Ramotswe (Jill Scott) opens her Botswana agency in the series premiere of this adaptation of Alexander McCall Smith's novels. Precious gets help from an auto mechanic named JLB (Lucian Msamati) and her new secretary, Grace (Anika Noni Rose). Their first case involves a philandering husband, but Precious also takes a professional interest in a popular news story about a missing child.
