Best Moments: New Girl's Big Kiss and 30 Rock Says Farewell

Jake Johnson and Zooey Deschanel

Our best moments of the week:

14. Most Disturbing Ball-Busting:
When Tessa plays tennis with her new beau Ryan and his overbearing mother Sheila on Suburgatory, she gets a very creepy first-hand look into their — should we say, close? — mother-son relationship. "Are you ready to watch me give it to my mom?" Ryan asks Tessa in all seriousness before serving a fault. "Focus on delivering your balls right to Mama," Sheila yells in encouragement. Uh, last time we checked it's... read more

Tuesday Playlist: Raising Hope Wedding, Damon's Kimmel Replay, NCIS Flashback

Shannon Woodward, Lucas Neff

We knew it wouldn't be all grins and giggles when three networks decided to stake out comedy ground on Tuesdays this season, cannibalizing the audience with too much of a quirky thing. Sure enough, the laughter ended last week for two of the night's more offbeat sitcoms: Fox's Ben and Kate and ABC's Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23, both abruptly if not unexpectedly yanked from the schedule.

If there's an upside, it's that we get more to love, at least for now, of Fox's underappreciated Raising Hope (8/7), now airing back-to-back episodes off and on for several weeks. read more

Last Resort

Question: While I'm not happy Last Resort was canceled, I would like to thank ABC and the producers for allowing this show to have an actual ending, with [SPOILER ALERT] Marcus showing his love for his country and sub by dying to make sure the Chinese didn't get it. Like you said in one of your daily reviews, any ending is better than a cliffhanger. I was satisfied with the ending. — Foster
