In an attempt to rebrand itself, IFC is developing a new slate of comedic programming, highlighted by a real show from a fake-news organization and a sitcom from two Arrested Development alums.
IFC's new tagline: "Always on. Slightly off."
"It's a perspective and attitude we share with our audience, who crave the kinds of unconventional stories, characters, talent, execution, and above all, authenticity, we provide," Jennifer Caserta, executive vice president and general manager of IFC, said Tuesday in announcing the lineup.

Newlyweds Jerry O'Connell and Rebecca Romijn play against type (fans hope) when Romijn guests on her hubby's ABC series Carpoolers. Romijn plays Joannifer, O'Connell's womanizing Laird's much-maligned ex-wife.Creator/exec producer/writer Bruce McCulloch (Kids in the Hall) says Romijn was a frequent set visitor, since her Ugly Betty set is nearby. "She started to hang around, she was laughing, we were buying her sushi," and he told O'Connell, "We gotta get her on the show."While Laird's ex has often been mentioned he reportedly received "the worst divorce settlement" ever she has yet to be seen, until now.Romijn "is a force of nature," so she's perfect for the role of Joannifer, who McCulloch describes as "ferocious," but also "vulnerable and emotional." Besides being in high-def, this release fixes a major problem present with the DVD release; it's widescreen. I tried to sit through the first few minutes of Weeds when it was released on DVD, but it was framed poorly, and I shut it off in disgust. Now I have a chance to watch the show in widescreen, AND in high-def, and that makes me very happy. The disc also contains the extras from the DVD release; commentaries, interviews, and more.My DVD pick would have to be the complete series of The Andy Griffith Show. While I think CBS/Paramount is screwing the fans with the bonus material on this set, it's still a nice set. They've included "Return to Mayberry," the TV movie, and The Make Room For Daddy Andy Griffth Show Pilot on this set, along with all the episodes of the show.I'm sure some of you have children, so I'd like to recommend one of my f...
