"You Always Miss a Best Friend" Season 4, Episode 6

The theme of this season of The Hills is family and whether or not those familial bonds are stronger than friendships. We already learned the outcome of Stephanie choosing Lauren over Speidi but now there's a new sister in town, Holly. Can she be the one to bring the former best friends back together? The episode began with Holly wanting to go out, but Spencer and Heidi staying in to cook. Unfortunately Holly only knows one other person in the big city of Los Angeles and she happens to be Lauren Conrad. The two were actually really close but their friendship fizzled out after the whole Heidi/Lauren feud. Spencer made himself very clear by telling Holly that as long as she is living under his roof, there will be no Lauren fraternizing. Thanks Dad. At Epic, Audrina's boss Kristin tells her that they're having a showcase at The Roosevelt for the band, The White Tie Affair. Not only will Chiara not be there, but the president of Epic will be in town and Audrina is going to be Kristin's right hand woman. Finally a chance for Audrina to shine at work. After receiving a "random" text from Holly, Lauren decides to meet her for lunch. Holly doesn't want the whole Heidi/Spencer thing to affect their relationship but Lauren is weary after the Stephanie fiasco. She doesn't want to come between another family again but Holly tells her that Heidi is feeling overwhelmed over how things turned out. In the end, Lauren tells her to call her if she wants to chill. Is Lauren making a big mistake? At Amalfi, Audrina and Justin are having dinner. He actually tells her she looks pretty and for once it seems like things are going well between them. Audrina is happy that a lot of the tension with the girls is gone and Justin comments that she's good at accepting people. She also brings up her event with The White Tie Affair. He says he'll go if it benefits her and seems pretty genuine. Too bad it wasn't because he was a no show. Lauren, Stephanie and even Lo came to show their support but Justin reverted back to Justin Bobby, the "I'm too cool for relationships and showing I care" type of guy. When Heidi comes home to Holly, it comes up that she had lunch with Lauren. Heidi is not so thrilled. "You're my best friend and my sister and you didn't tell me," she says. We also learned that Holly is her older sister (for some reason I thought younger). It's hard for Heidi to hear that her sister and Lauren are still friendly but Holly tries to justify it by telling her she was there for her. Sure. "Nothing's beyond repair," Holly tells Heidi. At FIDM, Lauren tells Stephanie about the lunch. Is Speidi going to drop Holly like they did Stephanie? At the same time, Heidi tells her co-worker that she's sad about Holly and Lauren being friends and that it's so unfortunate how things ended. She hopes that maybe Holly can peace everything out between the two. For Lauren, hanging out with Holly reminds her of how much fun they all used to have and "you always miss a best friend." Next week Lauren is on vacay and stuff goes down! Heidi and Audrina hang and Stephanie goes on a date with Doug. Should be interesting Cheers & Jeers takes on Lauren and Holly.
