The Hills Episode Recap: "You Did This" Season 4, Episode 16

Looks like Lauren is down another friend. On this week's episode of The Hills, Audrina heard a nasty rumor about Lauren and Justin hooking up and instead of brushing it off as Hollywood gossip, she did the unthinkable. She believed it. Okay so it's not crazy to think your boyfriend and your best friend have hooked up when you hear about it from multiple accounts, but in this case I have to side with Lauren. So here's how it all went down.

Audrina was shocked to hear from Dino, a good friend of Justin's, that JB and Lauren had hooked up. She immediately called the two of them to find out the truth but while Lauren denied it and was really hurt that Audrina would even question it, Justin couldn't even have the courtesy to return her phone call. Lauren tells Lo all about the accusation and when Lo says it's laughable, Lauren says, "I couldn't resist his charm, his manners, his impeccable hygiene. I was under the Justin Bobby spell." Hearing her say that was probably the best part of the episode.

Over at Spencer's, Holly drops by to pay her sis a visit. Since she's not there, Holly is left to deal with Spencer who calls her "little miss traitor" and says that Heidi doesn't want to see her. And Spencer had to throw in that she'd mention to Heidi, "Hey that girl who's staying with LC stopped by but we didn't have anything in our fridge, so she left." Ouch. At least Holly doesn't take his crap. "All you care about is yourself," she says.

To try to get to the bottom of everything, Audrina heads to Lauren's where she asks her flat out if she hooked up with J Bobs. Lauren is so angered by the question she tells Audrina that it's really screwed up that she'd even think that and talk ish about her to other people. Not knowing what to say to her, Audrina walks out and calls Justin, but to no avail. She leaves him another message, presumably calmer than the first we didn't hear her leave, and starts to freak out by his lack of response.

Still trying to talk to her sister, Holly shows up at Bolthouse to find Heidi. And look who no longer has a nice office. Heidi tells her sis that she ran into a bit of trouble at XIV, which is why she's been banned to a cubicle. The two start bickering pretty soon after. Heidi is hurt that her sister betrayed her yet Holly says that she's "never felt so unwelcome and unwanted." She tells Heidi, once again, that her issue has nothing to do with her, but with Spencer. She even asks if he ever told her she stopped by the other day and her lack of response gives her the answer right there.

At Cobras and Matadors, Justin has finally agreed to talk to Audrina. He asks her, slicked back hair and all, "You think after all this I'd just run and hook up with Lauren?" Surprisingly it turns into a situation where Audrina was in the wrong and Justin is so angry with her that he doesn't even want to hear it. "You're pleading that you're so innocent," he tells her before walking out.

The episode comes to a head when Lauren and Audrina meet face to face again, to try to resolve the situation. Unfortunately, nothing goes as planned. Neither side wants to apologize and instead, the two best friends end up fighting. "Tell me what I've done to make you think I'm capable of this?" Lauren asks to which Audrina responds, "You want me to make a list?" Oh bring it on! Audrina claims that Lauren and Justin have been flirty before which leads Lauren to say, "I'd rather kill myself than hook up with him. He's disgusting, he disgusts me." And as if Audrina hasn't gotten her answer just yet, she asks again if they've hooked up. At this point Lauren loses it, tears and all, and tells Audrina, "You did this, I didn't do anything." And then she hits her where it hurts. "You're way worse than Heidi." With that, Audrina walks out and Lauren cries in Lo's arm. Is this friendship worth saving?
