Premise: An abrasive yet impassioned history professor at a women's college suffers a midlife crisis. `This isn't going to be just about Max teaching, but about his learning,' said star Richard Dreyfuss. `He doesn't know anything anymore about his life.' Unfortunately, Max didn't have much time to find out; the thoughtful, superbly cast series lasted but one season.
