Final Emmy ballots were due from TV Academy members on Aug. 31; since then, nominees have been sweating it out. The awards begin flowing this Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, and then again on Sunday, Sept.r 23, when Jimmy Kimmel hosts the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards telecast on ABC. Here are some of this year's races to watch.

The Democrats and Republicans did their best to info-tain you with their party conventions. While the ultimate judgment will come in November, here are the stars who shined and dimmed during the confabs.

What summer vacation? It's not like TV took much of a break during what used to be the off-season. But with Labor Day behind us, and a handful of major fall premieres just a week away, here's a quick look at today's playlist.
In daytime (check local schedules), Kelly Ripa officially unveils her new permanent co-host on Live! With Kelly. Who could it possibly be? (Kidding; the news leaked a while back. But just in case you managed to stay out of the loop, why spoil it now?)
In keeping with his highly private life, Robert Pattinson kept mum about all things Kristen Stewart during his first interview since the news broke that she had cheated on him.
To promote his upcoming film Cosmopolis, Pattinson appeared on The Daily Show Monday night, where Jon Stewart offered the Twilight star some comfort food:

Our top moments of the week:
14. Most Shocking Reveal, Runner-Up: As if it wasn't gross enough that Jess came thisclose to using her super-sized box of condoms to have a one-night stand with Schmidt on New Girl, the camera cuts to the other side of Schmidt's door to show that he's already getting busy... with Cece! The next morning, an embarrassed Jess calls Cece to confess her close call with Schmidt, just as Schmidt rolls over and snuggles Cece's neck. Please, ladies, no catfights. It will just make it all that much more pathetic.
13. Most Cliched: Ivy gets a callback for...
This was a good week for welcoming back familiar and much-missed talent to some very good shows. Let's start with one of cable's underdogs, TNT's gritty and gripping police drama Southland, which introduced Carl Lumbly (who'll always be Dixon from Alias to me) as the squad's militaristic new captain, Brucker. "Our job just got harder," grumbles one of the grunts. Bad for him, good for Southland. Pledging to command a pro-active patrol, with Mickey D applications at the ready for those who screw up, Brucker's mantra is: "We protect! We serve! And we kick a— till we smell s---!" Yeah, he's that kind of boss.
Our top moments of the week:
15. Best Clean Slate: New year, new look for Walden (Ashton Kutcher). Though he's initially upset that Zoey wants him to shave and look presentable for a corporate shindig on Two and a Half Men, Walden finally gives in and does away with his hirsute hobo look. Later, however, Zoey comes over to apologize for forcing him to change and is stunned to see her clean-shaven and much younger-looking beau. You know Ashton couldn't have hidden the pretty for much longer.
14. Most Substantial Goodbye: After Agent McQuaid and her friend Laura are...
