December 11, 2006: Girl Twirl 3000 Season 1, Episode 11

I learned a very important lesson from The Class this week. Ladies don't like the "Girl Twirl 3000" stripper pole on their anniversary. Who knew? You think it would be OK for me to get one for my fiancée as a wedding gift, though? Certainly, I'd get her something romantic for the one-year, but the wedding is lovey-dovey enough already so I think I the pole would be fine at this juncture. Wouldn't you agree? (I'll have to make sure she doesn't read my blog this week so it doesn't spoil the surprise.) For the last two weeks, the promos for The Class have been talking about getting to know Duncan and Nicole better, so it was about time we were allowed to. I finally felt like this week was about Nicole and Duncan more than anyone else. You know, the more I get to know Duncan, the more I really don't believe how he could be single and living with his mother. Here's a good-looking, funny, sentimental guy, and he spends time watching his mother work out in her bathing suit? And he's being awfully nice at this point. I understand he wants Nicole to be happy and the only way he can do that is to coach Yonk through her life, but I can't picture how he can put up with it. Yonk shows he loves Nicole but really isn't right for her, and yet Duncan feeds him all the info he can so he can keep Nicole. Wouldn't you try to get them to break up? Maybe after he gets paid for fixing up the house we'll see that happen. If nothing else, it's a good catch by Nicole that the Fashion Week tickets were his idea. Now raise your hand if you wanted to see Nicole on that stripper pole. Don't be embarrassed. I have mine up, too. And don't blink, either, because we have another new character on the show. Kat's art-school classmate, Palmer ( Jamie King) is now her neighbor. Kat already hated enough people so I'm not sure we needed to toss someone else in to the mix and throw Ethan in bed with her. Man, Kat's head is going to explode! Only on The Class could we have a "fruitographer." Someone get me a framed shot of a strawberry playing the guitar for Christmas. Please! My holiday would be complete. And how about Richie getting into Lina's request to use the pole for her? Despite crushing the jewels a bit he really was working it. It's nice of her to realize what she's got, though geez, I hope she teaches him a little patience somewhere down the line. If I'm not mistaken, I think that's it for 2006 for the gang. Here's hoping that all of you will remember where this show is in a few weeks and give it a try in 2007. Tell your friends and family about it over the holidays. It needs your support. If you haven't seen it yet, don't miss out on Matt Mitovich's awesome Q&A with Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Until next time, friends. show less
