Daytime Emmy Awards: Michael Logan's Fearless Predictions

Gee, remember when the Daytime Emmys were presented before thousands of deliriously happy fans at Radio City Freakin' Music Hall in primetime during May sweeps and drew massive Nielsen ratings? Now they're on the Internet. Yep, the 41st Annual Daytime Emmys Awards — hosted by Kathy Griffin — will live stream on daytimeemmys.net on Sunday, June 22 (8 p.m./ET, 7 p.m./CT, 5 p.m./PT). What should we expect? Only two things are guaranteed: Griffin, working without censors, will shock the crap out of us (can't wait!) and most of my fearless predictions in the drama categories will, as usual, be laughably wrong. Will Ridge Stop The Wedding? Bold and Beautiful Scoop From Thorsten Kaye

In a first for daytime drama, CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful went all the way to the Middle East for the wedding of Brooke Logan and Bill Spencer (Katherine Kelly Lang and Don Diamont, pictured below). The exotic adventure, shot in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, airs May 23 through June 3 and includes an uninvited guest — Brooke's ex-hubby Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), who is determined to stop the I do's. In a wet-and-wild twist, Ridge falls out of a helicopter and into the Persian Gulf and disappears. But is it before or after he gets to the ceremony? Kaye told TV Guide Magazine all about it. Well, almost all.

Premise: The high-glam soap about L.A.'s fashionable and fertile Forrester clan was designed as a sister soap to the popular 'The Young and the Restless,' and quickly won ratings and global fans with cast crossovers, exotic remotes, glossy runaway shows and fast-paced storylines about beautiful people behaving badly. In 2004, the show introduced a new family, the Marones, and recruited several nighttime alums to beef up the cast. And to create a little chaos.
