The Biggest Loser Episode Recap: Week 4 Season 8, Episode 4

After a very intense week on the ranch, the heat is on Tracey. Shay immediately confronts her for going against her word to make Daniel's weight-loss count, but Tracey sees no wrongdoing in her decision. Things continue to get worse for Tracey when Dr. H informs her that she's not getting much better and can no longer walk for exercise or even get in the pool. She cries out her frustration and wonders how she's going to keep herself on the ranch without working out.

The contestants meet Ali in the kitchen and soon realize that their refrigerator and cabinets are locked. This week, they'll be ordering in all of their meals. They then partake in a challenge where each team is shown three meals and must decide which is the healthiest. They can ask Alison all the questions they want before making their decision. It's a draw between meal A and meal C — no-one chooses option B. Alison reveals that meal A was the healthier of the two, leaving a three-way tie. After guessing how many calories make up dinner A, Team Pink wins, having guessed the closest without going over. Their prize is a year of free, healthy groceries. That's definitely a great one to win.

The players attempt to order in, but they are upset to find that the meals they receive are not exactly what they wanted. The result is a less desirable and healthy option. The trainers take them out to show them how to go out to eat. They go to The Spanish Kitchen —I've been and it's delish!— and immediately must say, "No, thank you," to the tortilla chips. Rebecca is a little bummed about not being able to have the type of Mexican food she wants, so Jillian pushes her to say why she's really on The Biggest Loser. Rebecca gets emotional as she explains how she's tired of being just the pretty face.

This week's challenge is simple: Each player grabs a handlebar and hangs on as long as possible while the platform gets steeper and steeper. The winner gets immunity for his or her team. Liz is the first one out, followed by her partner. Shay lasts pretty long, but it eventually comes down to Allen and Daniel. Daniel wins and shouts, "Are you serious right now?" Last season he was sent home in week four so he's glad to have broken the curse.

Jillian gets on Rudy during the last-chance workout, and Mo gets hurts when his body gives out on him. I love the fist-bump Allen gives with the Rocky-type music in the background.

Here's how the weigh-in goes down:
Orange Team: Daniel and Shay lose 0 and 5 pounds (Ali thinks it's strategy that Daniel has immunity and lost no pounds, do you agree?). They lose .69 percent
Green Team: Allen and Abby lose 7 and 3 pounds, 1.97 percent
Blue Team: Rudy and Dina lose 11 and 5 pounds, 2.57 percent
Brown Team: Liz and Danny lose 3 and 8 pounds, 1.74 percent
Purple Team: Tracy and Mo lose 4 and 8 pounds, 2.21 percent
Black Team: Julio loses 4 pounds, 1.09 percent
Pink Team: Amanda and Rebecca lose 5 and 4 pounds, 1.86 percent

Teams Brown and Black are below the yellow line, and Julio says he wants to stay but won't step in front of Liz and Danny to say he deserves it more. Both teams leave it up to the rest of the players to decide, and in the end, Julio is sent home. The former "dead father" is doing pretty well. As of today, he's gone from 407 to 299 pounds, and he's managed to keep his love for food, just changing the way he's doing it.

Premise: Popular reality fare about overweight people competing to drop pounds. Divided initially into teams, the contestants are aided (and bullied) by trainers and must participate in physical reward challenges. At the end of each episode, there's a weigh-in that helps determine who is sent packing.
