Can you believe it's already the last week at the Biggest Loser campus? Mike, Daris, Ashley, Koli and Sunshine remain, but only four will make it to the finale. Ali reveals that this week there will be no yellow line and no voting, but the person with the lowest percentage of weight will be sent packing.
Season 7 winner Helen pays the players a visit, and she's joined by Season 3 winner Erik, who notoriously gained back all the weight he lost. Since we saw him during last season's update, Erik has lost 70 pounds and plans to keep losing. Having him stop by definitely puts things in perspective for the current contestants. I was also glad to hear Helen admit that she worked out too much when she returned home and that she was now in maintenance mode.
Michael, meanwhile, chats with both Helen and Erik and cries as he asks, "Who leaves a reality weight loss show still obese?" He continues to flip out in the gym and runs out of his workout yelling, "Everything is against me." But once Bob calms him down, Michael admits he's glad he threw a tantrum because now he can breathe and focus.
Next the players head to the site of a classic Biggest Loser challenge from two seasons ago. They must carry a bag with the weight that they've lost (and the bags have a nice picture of what the contestants used to look like on the front) over 16 hills of sand — one for every week on campus. As they overcome a hill, they can remove what they lost that corresponding week. Daris wins and gets the choice of 10,000 dollars or a one-pound advantage. He takes the advantage.
Tony Romo also pays the players a visit and helps them shop for new workout gear. He then joins them on a hike. Nice little perk for lasting this long on the ranch.
The remaining five also get to individually watch a video of what they looked like in the beginning. Michael cries as he watches, and I have chills! Michael also sees Dr. H. and gets the good news that after 17 weeks, his physical age is down to 38, and his chance of stroke is down to 1 percent from 15 percent. Nice cheesy montage too, as usual.
Here's how the weigh-in goes down:
Michael loses 12 pounds, 3.59 percent.
Koli loses 13 pounds, 5.33 percent.
Daris loses 10 pounds, 5.37 percent (with one-pound advantage).
Ashley loses 7 pounds, 2.94 percent. (Most weight lost on campus by woman in history)
Sunshine loses 2 pounds and we don't need to see her percentage — she's going home.
I'm bummed she didn't make it to Final 4, but the girl has come so far. She's taken back to her high school with tons of fans cheering for her, and she even gets to go to a Twins game and throw out the first pitch. The best part is that the jersey she wears no longer needs to be a double XL. Again, I have the chills. Can't wait to see how everyone looks at finale!
