The Biggest Loser: Families Episode Recap: "Week 11" Season 6, Episode 13

Tonight we got down to the final four. Wow this season has flown and there's been no shortage of drama on the installment pegged "those born to it versus those who were sworn to it." The beginning of the episode took a quick look back at how far our remaining contestants have come. Ed and Heba, who hope to have children, have come a long way. Heba came in as the heaviest woman and has lost 70 pounds. Her husband and teammate Ed has lost 82 pounds. Renee and Michelle, the mother and daughter duo who hadn't spoken in over 5 years, have also done well. Renee has lost 68 pounds while her daughter Michelle has lost 66. And then there's Vicky, our last solo player on the ranch. She's lost 68 pounds.

This week the contestants were treated to a trip to the Big Apple where they were to not only receive makeovers with the help of Project Runway Season 4 winner Christian Siriano, but also reveal their new looks on The Tyra Banks Show. Talk about a whirlwind. First they're off to the salon where even Ed gets some color. Vicky, though, was quite nervous about her new red locks. Next was a little shopping spree. Heba immediately ran over to Christian to give him a huge hug and Renee was pretty excited to see him as well. Christian was fierce as always. We got a glimpse of some of the contestants' new wardrobe as he first urged Heba to try on a dress she thought would never fit. She started crying when she realized that she had gone from a size 24, to feeling comfortable in a dress that was a size 14. Renee also teared up as she modeled a fun and funky print dress. She told the cameras that she is finally proud of the woman she is today. It was certainly a heartfelt and honest moment.

First to reveal her makeover on Tyra was Michelle, who looked amazing in her fuchsia dress. And in true talk show fashion they then surprised her with a visit from dad. Seeing him literally run to hug her gave me chills, it was such a great moment. Next was Renee and I'm loving the short 'do. She got a visit from her husband. Then came Vicky who was united with her sister. Heba was nervous to get on stage but rocked her new red dress and short hair. When they brought out her brother, she had the greatest reaction of them all. And looks like she'll be getting a trip to the location of her choice since he told her before coming onto The Biggest Loser: Families that if she lost 60 pounds he'd take her anywhere. Finally, Ed came out looking pretty smooth and they also brought out his dad, Ed Sr. The final treat of the day was when Christian announced that Macy's had given them each a $1000 gift card.

Next stop on the NYC trip was Times Square where the contestants were treated with a rather large video message from Bob & Jillian. They appeared on the big screen to tell their trainees about all of the great options they had for working out. Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge, and a brand new 24 hr fitness. So the next day that's what they did. At the 24 hr fitness, Heba and Vicky ran on the treadmill along with their siblings and Ed ran while his dad video-taped. Renee and her husband Roderick walked and then ran the Brooklyn Bridge. And did you see those arm muscles? Looks like Renee has got her trainer for when she returns home. Michelle raced her dad in Central Park and the two had a nice heart to heart when he asked about her mom. She said that they're working on themselves as people and that she gave forgiveness and doesn't need anything now in return.

Back in LA, the teams finally returned. Jillian told Michelle and Renee that they looked great but then shrugged off hearing about the trip. The next thing she said is the reason why I love Jillian. "I don't care about makeovers, I don't care about your family. I don't care about anything. All I care about is that your ass gets smaller. That's it. Ass. Smaller. I don't care about anything else."

The challenge this week had the players wedge themselves in a box 15 feet above water. The prize was a 2-week trip for 2 to Fitness Ridge Resort and Spa in Utah. Sounded pretty sweet to me. Vicky was worried about getting hurt and pretty quickly disqualified herself. But instead of falling in the water she stayed in the box. "It was like 100 feet" she said. "I think the dye from Vicky's makeover got to her brain," Heba commented. Soon after Heba started to struggle and fall and then Ed did as well. Last to go was Renee so Michelle was our winner. But Vicky was still up there. Heba tried to psych her out by telling her that Chance and Lucy (Vicky's kids) were going watch and "you don't wanna tell them it's okay to be scared over something small." Alison told her to stop using the words "I can't" and then Ed jumped in the water to try to give her a point of reference. Finally she dropped but even she wasn't sure why the height was such an issue for her.

And here's how this all important weigh-in went:

Vicky- lost 4 for a total of 2.22%
Renee- lost 4 for a total of 2.01%
Michelle- lost 5 for a total of 2.84
Ed- lost 3 for a total of 1.19
Heba- lost 7 for a total of 3.13%

Ugh. This put Ed and Renee below the yellow line and we all knew what would happen after that. Would it be all women in the final 4 or would Blue team keep their alliance? Vicky, instead of voting out a huge contender for 1st place, cast the deciding vote to send Renee home. Was anyone else a mess of tears listening to Renee and Michelle talk about each other? And how gorgeous did Michelle look during that elimination?

The next day Renee had her big reveal in front of friends and family, including her two other daughters. Flash forward to her update and she's lost a total of 95 pounds, is doing motivational speaking, and is even leading a fitness group at work. She's gone from a size 22 to a size 8 and looks fab!

So now we're 1 week away from finding out who goes to the finale. Who are your picks? Comment away!
