Episode 11 Recap Season 4, Episode 11

Well tonight was quite the emotional episode, wasn't it? There have only been a couple moments this season where I found myself tearing up in comparison with previous seasons. But with the makeovers, surprise reunions with loved ones, and Kae being eliminated, there were plenty of tears to go around. Like Allison said, it was ironic to say that Kae was not the Biggest Loser, seeing as how she'd lost the most percentage of any woman in the show's history. But Kae had so much to be proud of and had an amazing journey in her 10 weeks so I do feel like she's walking off as a winner. She had always been one of the biggest threats - if not the biggest on campus - and a lot of people wanted her gone. They never got the chance though, since Kae continued to pull big numbers every week and never fell below the yellow line. She didn't even fall below the yellow line when hanging from a rope in the challenge and totally deserved to win the $5,000 shopping spree. And she also won the cover of Prevention magazine. Kae rocks my world. Well I'm glad they incorporated the whole live weigh-in and we got to see Kae in present day. That girl is teeny-tiny! And how cute was her mother when she kept repeating, "You're my daughter?" I also loved her reunion with Bob at the weigh-in. He reminded her that she was what this show was all about. I couldn't have said it better myself. Neil and Amy, are you listening? Having the contestants check out their made-over selves in a three-way mirror only to reveal their loved ones on the other side was just such a sweet part of the show tonight. Whether it was a wife, husband, mother or friend, everyone was just so happy and proud and shocked at the amazing results. The little cross-promotion with Days of our Lives was slightly cheesy but I know the contestants were ecstatic about it so I won't dish on it too much. Oh, and speaking of which, the Wrigley's gum promotion tonight was just ridiculous. Subway - fine, they do have a wide range of healthy food options to offer so that sponsorship is understandable. But gum? I'm assuming Kim felt so silly telling Bryan that he can relieve stress by chewing gum. You mean that's better than taking out your stress on the treadmill? So is everyone looking forward to gaining seven pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year's? Wow, some of those facts in the trivia were pretty scary (You'd have to walk 3 miles to work off one serving of mashed potatoes and gravy! One serving of cranberry sauce has the same amount of sugar as eight donuts!) but as always, very useful. I'm pretty surprised somewhere in the two hours they didn't have a segment in the kitchen showing low-fat ideas for holiday meals. Hmm, it would probably have had too many sponsors to name. And on that note, happy Thanksgiving everyone! Check out Biggest Loser clips in our Online Video Guide. show less
