The Big Bang Theory Episode Recap: "The Dead Hooker Juxtaposition" Season 2, Episode 19

This week, an attractive new tenant moves into the apartment above Sheldon and Leonard. Although the guys love the fact that there is a new girl living above them, Penny isn't too fond of this.

We first find the guys hanging out in the living room. Penny, being the only brave one out of the entire bunch, killed a spider for them and she sits down. Many topics were brought up, including the fact that the upstairs apartment is now for rent. Sheldon is immediately horrified by the idea of having new tenants upstairs. He had never met them, but that is the exact reason why he liked them — quiet and basically non-existent. As any person in this situation would do, Penny decided to taunt Sheldon and told him that maybe "a tap dancing pirate with a wooden leg" would move in upstairs. Obviously, Sheldon found this joke unacceptable. Howard even spoke up and suggested he move in so they could all spend more time together. As Penny put it, "the horror."

On the way over to help Howard move out, things were quickly brought to a screeching halt when they overheard Howard and his mom yelling inside. "Does this look like the Olive Garden to you!?" Even after Howard said he would come home every night and eat dinner with her, he finally decided that he couldn't say bye to his mom just yet and was not moving out. (Will he ever decide to move out?)

Howard and Leonard walked into their apartment complex and saw boxes in the lobby. Sheldon picked up a box and started to shake it, looking for instruments of course. All of a sudden, a very pretty, blonde woman named Alicia came down the steps and introduced herself. As she was sorting through all the boxes, Sheldon began to interrogate her about her apartment lifestyle. "On a scale of one to 10, how light of foot are you?" He even gets a little bit more personal (and only Sheldon could get away with this) and asked Alicia, "How fertile are you?" He had to ask just so he knew the chances of loud babies living upstairs. Finally, Sheldon decides that she is an adequate candidate to move in. "Welcome to the building."

The next scene showed Leonard following Alicia and carrying a gigantic box up the steps. The three of them ran into a "frumpy" looking Penny outside her door while she was wearing sweatpants and a XL "Hillary 2008" T-shirt — although it is hard to make Penny look unattractive in my opinion. Later on in the day, Penny went upstairs wearing a tight blue dress (making up for her earlier appearance) to say hello to everyone who was up in Alicia's apartment. Alicia and Penny begin to talk (while the guys were hooking up electronics) and she finds out she is an actress. She even went onto say that being an actress is hard because she only gets national TV commercials and cheesy soaps. As soon as those words came out of her mouth, I knew Penny was going to be jealous of her — and not just because she is hanging with her guys. Being a struggling actress herself, Penny was obviously annoyed by Alicia. She even attempted to tell a physicist joke (that she didn't even understand and the guys were offended by) in order to get the eyes back on her.

After the failed attempt upstairs to stray the guys away from Alicia, she decided to buy Chinese dinner for everyone. She even succeeded in getting every single thing that Sheldon likes to eat with his food, which is something Leonard can never get right. While they began to eat, there was a knock on the door and it was none other than Alicia. She tells Leonard that she has an audition to play a hooker for a role on CSI and needs a ride. Before she barely spoke another word, Leonard was ready to leave and take her where she needed to go. Of course, the other guys were right behind them, leaving Sheldon and Penny behind. "That girl is a user...it just creams my corn."

Finally, Penny and Alicia were alone in the laundry room. Alicia told Penny that she got the part on CSI and a visibly annoyed Penny finally mustered up a "positive" response to Alicia, "Congratulations...you will make a great hooker." Alicia seemed to take it as a compliment, but then asked Penny a very strange question, "How much do physicists make?" Penny was taken back from the question and also took offense to how Alicia was using the guys. (She even used Star Trek to explain her reasoning!) I thought this might just be a quick verbal argument, but then Alicia said the one statement to Penny that triggered the inner wrestler in her, "What are you going to do about it, BITCH?"

In the final scenes I think we all pretty much knew how it was going to go down. The guys were walking into the lobby when a loud commotion was heard from the steps. Eventually we see the girls on top of each other, falling down the steps and hitting the lobby floor. "Oh my god, girl fight!" Raj yelled as they just stood and watched the action. In the end, Penny had a black eye and they were all gathered in Leonard and Sheldon's apartment listening to music — but this loud music was coming from the upstairs apartment. And to only add to the orchestra that was going on upstairs, they heard a repetitive loud creaking sound. "Oh great, now she's jumping up and down on the bed," innocent little Sheldon exclaimed.

So, is this the last we see of Alicia? Something tells me we haven't seen the last of her. I feel like we have all begun to really like Penny, and Alicia is someone that can encompass the ugly side. Every great comedy needs a villain, right? I also really liked seeing the jealous side of Penny in this week's episode when she defended Leonard and the guys. Who would've thought that the Penny would not only be explaining Star Trek, but would also get into a brawl with another woman!? Below are some of the great quotes from this week's episode....what was your favorite? Also, congrats to The Big Bang Theory on their renewal for what is hopefully many years on the air! Now let's just get Jim Parsons an Emmy nomination! "Zoom Zooom Zooommmm!"

"So they steamed your dumplings. Get over it!" ~Leonard

"Not with 1000 condoms, Howard." ~Penny

"It's a trap!" ~Sheldon

"Dead whore on TV. A real one in real life." ~Penny

Premise: Two nerdy physicists share an apartment and an unlikely friendship with their beautiful neighbor with whom one of them is infatuated. Like the universe after the big bang, the show's popularity expanded, thanks to breakout star Jim Parsons, along with the chemistry among the friends and the developing romance between Leonard and Penny. The addition of Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik in later seasons also enhanced the stories and relationships of the leads.
