Jeers to Ali Fedotowsky for keeping weatherman Jonathan in the picture on The Bachelorette. Sure, Canadian dental salesman (seriously, is there a better job description...
On this week's episode of The Bachelorette, Ali goes on her first two one-on-one dates and must send seven suitors packing.
Ali's first one-on-one date of the season is with Frank. She thinks he'll make for a lively and fun first date, but is also trying to figure out if there is any deeper connection there beyond their shared sense of humor. The date starts out in a vintage blue convertible, but trouble hits quickly. Just as the two are enjoying the views, the company and the vintage ride, the vintage part kicks in and the car rolls to a stop on the freeway. Instead of calling Triple AAA like a normal person, Ali is just (yes) too excited to start the date so she and Frank grab a cab and head to Hollywood. Ali, now known for her time on The Bachelor, is swarmed for photos and autographs and Frank deals with it graciously and is also able to interject his personality into the media attention of his famous date.

Season finales provided a lot of healthy closure this week, at least according to our shrink Mitzi Cohen-McGinty, Ph.D. She says that The Biggest Loser is not just about how we look on the outside. She praised Glee for showing us that there is no "right" when it comes to the relationship between a child and the mother who gave her up for adoption. She thinks Jack and Chloe are totally 24's most codependent coworkers, so it's good that they've decided to spend some time apart. And finally, according to Dr. Cohen-McGinty, Lost's season finale is just a metaphor for the journey to self-actualization that we all must take — except, you know, while we're still truckin' on this mortal coil — and preferably from the couch of her stately Upper West Side salon. 24 and Law & Order aired their series finales on Monday night to middling ratings.
The Fox spy series drew only 8.9 million viewers, a 13 percent drop from its Season 7 finale. After 20 seasons, Law & Order went off the air with only 7.6 million viewers, down 12 percent from last week's episode and 5 percent down from last year's season finale.

The latest installment of The Bachelorette (Mon, 8/7c on ABC) has barely begun and already some men are holding back while others are perhaps revealing too much. TVGuide.com spoke with host Chris Harrison about Ali's awkward first episode, what he thought of Derrick's tale about his nickname "Shooter," why the guys are ganging up on Justin, and who's going to be sticking around for a while.
TVGuide.com: How do you think Ali did on her first night as the Bachelorette?
Chris Harrison: The first episode it's always a tough one. It's like starting to date — it's so uncomfortable. Who in the world is prepared to sit there and watch five limos of 25 people pull up? It's so awkward, but...
And away we go! After exiting early last season, Ali makes her triumphant return as another season of The Bachelorette begins!
First off, let me just say that I didn't realize how happy I was that, of all the girls from last season, it was Ali coming back until tonight. I am really excited to see how much she's changed since The Bachelor and now that she's been through not only the experience of TV once, but having lost love and tried to win it back, she'll know better than anyone else how to cherish this experience and, hopefully, will be able to tell which guys are and are not cherishing their time with her.
Here's my first impressions of some of the new guys:

In the episodes leading up to this fifth-season finale, the stories have reflected the friends' growing realization that their lives will change and they won't always be as they are now. That hits home in the finale as Robin is offered her dream job and Lily and Marshall keep a pact to have a baby when they see Barney's doppelgänger a secret.

The Bachelorette - Ali Fedotowsky
Ali Fedotowsky's biggest fear going into The Bachelorette was that she'd keep someone around who would snub her in the end.
Meet the 25 men after Bachelorette Ali's heart
"I didn't necessarily know that because they were accepting a rose, it meant that they actually wanted to be with me. So, yes, I questioned that a lot along the way, and I was scared," the 25-year-old former account executive tells TVGuide.com

It's not always the finalists on The Bachelor and Bachelorette who are lucky in love: Two of the shows' former rejected contestants have paired up and are planning to get married.
Tara Durr, 29, and John Presser, 30, announced their engagement at a recent Bachelor reunion hosted by fellow former contestant Jesse Csincsak. Durr was cut the first night of Season 9 by Lorenzo Borghese, and Bachelorette Jillian Harris booted Presser during the first round of that cycle.
