On this week's episode of The Bachelorette, Ashley and the men go to Taiwan where she decides who will travel back to the States and introduce her to their families.
Constantine receives the first one-on-one date for the week and the two head to a village outside of Taipei. There they make a love wish with a lantern that they'll set free. Ashley loves how seriously he takes the activity. During the dinner portion of the date, Ashley tells Constantine that not only is he physically what she's attracted to, but that she loves that he holds back and is a family man. They end the night with a kiss and watch all the lanterns heading up to the sky.
The next date is with Ben and the pair rides over to a footbridge where they're making out before they even take two steps. We don't see much of their day date, but at dinner Ben opens up about having strong feelings and wanting the hometown date.
Lucas, Ames and J.P. get the group date where they'll be taking traditional wedding photos. Lucas wears a gold floor-length traditional Taiwanese outfit, Ames gets stuck with a powder blue and sequin suit and J.P. gets the smoking hot black tux. Fair? Probably not. During the photos, Ashley is told by the photographer to kiss Lucas and then Ames, and J.P. gets extremely jealous. He may have gotten the best "outfit," but his photo shoot is the most awkward. That night, J.P. admits to his jealousy and Ashley is surprised that he's not as "cool as a cucumber." He says that everything has changed because of the way he feels and because Ashley relates to those feelings, she gives him a rose. "I want to meet your family so bad," she says.
Ryan gets his very first one-on-one date of the season. Ryan thinks it's going well, but Ashley isn't too sure she's ready to meet his family. He asks her what she does for the environment, since he works in the industry, and tells him about throwing out a plastic bottle and angering an ex. As he starts to talk to her about water heaters, she's thinking that she's just not feeling passionate about him. She starts tearing up as she begins to tell him that he's her perfect guy, but that she doesn't see the romance between them. Ryan is absolutely crushed.
With Ryan gone, there's only one guy Ashley needs to eliminate. She chats with Chris Harrison before it's time to make her decision — with no cocktail party necessary. Constantine, Ben and Ames receive roses and It's not a shock that Lucas is going home.
But wait, the show isn't over! It's time for Chris' sit-down interview with Emily Maynard about her breakup with Bachelor's Brad. As soon as Emily steps out of the limo to go into the house, the tears are already flowing. She tells Chris that she thought they'd be planning their wedding, but instead she and Brad are broken up and no longer engaged. Emily continues to say that she'll always love Brad and she'll never say a bad word about him, but that she had to be honest with herself about the relationship and her desire for it to work out wasn't enough. Emily also tells Chris her hopes were so high and that the breakup feels like a failure. Chris asks about the paparazzi and Emily explains that she wasn't prepared for being followed to the grocery store. "All this attention brings out the worst in people and you don't know who to turn to," she says. Chris finishes up the interview by telling Emily that he and the Bachelor crew wishes her the very best.
