The Bachelor Episode Recap: Week 6 Season 15, Episode 6

On this week's The Bachelor, Brad and the ladies are headed to Costa Rica where there's rain, rain and more rain. But that doesn't put a damper on the dates. The first one-on-one goes to Chantal and it begins with the typical Bachelor mode of transportation — helicopter. As they head off, Michelle dreams that Chantal gets attacked by monkeys or apes, and that's probably the nicest thing she said all episode. Did I mention she called Chantal aggressive and overly confident? Yep, the pot calling the kettle black.

After the pair goes ziplining through the rain, they go to the next leg of their date, a picnic in the jungle. It's about five minutes before it pours and the two duck for cover — in Brad's hotel room. Brad says he's happy that the rain and plan B made it feel like a real date, but maybe he's just happy he gets her in his bedroom. Chantal gets the rose and says in her interview, "I did fall in love with Brad tonight."

The next date card comes and it's for Jackie, Michelle, Emily, Ashley, Shawntel, and Britt which means Alli gets her first one-on-one date. For the group date, the women are going to rappel down a waterfall. Immediately, Michelle gets angry because she and Brad made a pact on their own one-on-one date that they'd never rappel with anyone else. So after Michelle hits Brad in frustration, he reveals that he saved for her last so they could rappel together with all the women already at the bottom.

Later that night, the ladies change into bikinis, but the mood is anything but light. Michelle continues to whine and questions why Brad had given Chantal the alone date and it really ticks Brad off, and rightfully so. It leaves a bitter taste in his mouth and he announces that nobody is getting the rose. "I'm going to take every second I have to think about who I'm giving these roses to," he says.

The next day, Brad shows up on a horse to pick Alli up. They head to their destination, a cave over 40 million years old. Alli freaks at the first sight of a spider and the bats that come next don't help the situation. They finally get to the end where there's a natural set of stairs the locals call "the altar."

The evening portion of the date is painfully awkward. Brad and Alli make small talk until he begins to let her down easily. She momentarily interrupts him trying to send her home, but he's able to be direct and say that she won't be receiving the rose on the date. A class act, Alli tells Brad what a great guy he is, and doesn't go the typical route of bashing everyone once inside the limo.

While Brad is in his hotel, he gets a knock at the door and it's Michelle. She tells Brad how she misses him when he's not around and he reciprocates the sentiment. But Michelle ruins the fleeting moment by saying she's glad Alli went home and she still thinks Chantal should've been axed.

At the rose ceremony, Brad is feeling like Debbie Downer and says he has a lot of things to sort out. He talks to Emily first, who says she feels like an idiot for admitting she sabotages every relationship she's in. Brad doesn't want to give up on her and says she's worth the fight. Next he talks to Michelle and says she scares him. He calls her out and says, "What makes you so confident that you know me enough to make that statement?" She responds, "I don't know you as well as I want to," and cries. Later on, the girls wonder who gave Brad grief for not handing out the group date rose and Michelle admits it was her and she walked up to his room to chat the other night. The crowd goes silent.

Chantal takes advantage of already having a rose and tells Brad that her feelings have grown for Brad and she loves him. He says he isn't freaked out, but that it made his night. Are there usually L-Bombs this early on in the season?

Onto the rose ceremony. Ashley, Emily, Britt, Shawntel and ... Michelle receive roses. Ugh. Jackie is sent home.

Will Brad see Michelle's true colors?

Premise: True love (or a TV facsimile thereof) gets the reality treatment in this long-running dating game, in which a successful bachelor romances a number of beauties. The list of possible paramours is reduced each week until he gives a final red rose to one of them. The series spun off 'The Bachelorette', a spate of rip-offs and very few lasting pairings.
