The Bachelor Episode Recap: "Week 2" Season 14, Episode 2

On this week of The Bachelor, Jake takes some of the lovely ladies on a group date and ABC reveals a contestant's "inappropriate relationship" with someone behind the scenes.

Chris Harrison starts off the episode by explaining the rules to the ladies, you know for whomever on earth hasn't seen the show before. The ladies selected to go on the group date include Gia, Ashleigh, Rozlyn, Christina and others, who get to go to a rooftop photo shoot with Jake in Santa Monica. (I'm sorry, did we stumble into America's Next Top Model?) Everyone seems to be having fun, except for Christina, who is feeling a little self-conscious in front of the camera.  Understandable, although a little ironic considering she's feeling self-conscious about the camera while she's on camera. However, the moment turns sweet when Jake embraces Christina to help her feel comfortable in front of the camera and the two share a cute pose.

The group date turns from day to night and Christina quickly loses my faith. I know I said I liked her "tell it like it is" strategy, but now I think it's just a mask to hide all her insecurities! I know its hard living with models and beauty queens and whoever else but lets put the game face on girlie. After going on and on about Rozlyn's great body, Christina pulls Jake aside for some one-on-one time to make sure he's starting to feel what she already feels. In front of Jake, Christina also comes off a little insecure and he admits he would prefer if she had had less to drink! Talk about not making a good impression! Christina is really going to need it together not just in front of Jake, but by herself to get another rose.

Rozlyn soon interrupts Christina's boozy badgering with her one-on-one time with Jake. The two share a few laughs but before you know it, they're sharing a really steamy open-mouthed, all or nothing kiss. Within mere moments, Jake is flying downstairs to get Rozlyn the first rose.

After the group date, the girls are waiting back at home and learn that one lucky lady will get to go on an individual date with Jake AND gets a gorgeous necklace. Ali learns the following morning that she's the one who gets to go on the date but unfortunately for the girl with the fear of flying, Jake invites her to come fly with him (yay the plane puns are back baby)! However, Ali is pretty impressive with conquering her fear and the two share some serious chemistry up in the air, over dinner, and during a surprise private concert by Chicago. They also share a steamy — and seemingly more substantive kiss — at the end of their date.

The next group date see Jake and five girls travel to Six Flags and it's Elizabeth who catches his eye after she pulls him aside and asks him not to kiss her if/until she makes it to the very end.

The day after the second group date is when things really heat up. Chris Harrison pulls Rozlyn aside right in front of the ladies and asks her point blank about an "inappropriate relationship" with one of the staffers. Poor Chris looks so uncomfortable talking about the subject matter but rather than act gracious or embarrassed, Rozlyn insists its her personal business and gets all defensive, comparing her relationship with said staffer (whose no longer with the show) to the other girls on the show who left a man or a relationship behind. Chris says no one is judging her (except for the rest of America, that is) but Rozlyn still looks at Chris as if she's getting a harsher hand than she deserves. Chris next asks her to pack her things immediately and Rozlyn re-enters the house crying and simply telling the other girls she's leaving.

Chris tells Jake the bad news and at first, Jake simply can't believe it and asks if Chris is kidding. He begins pacing back and forth and looks clearly peeved and personally hurt, as do the girls once Chris and Jake fill them in on the drama. They already didn't need a lot to show their emotion for Jake and its no surprise you don't see any of the girls run down the street and begin chasing Rozlyn away from the mansion. The girls also now worry that Jake will put a bit of a guard up.

Despite Rozlyn's sudden departure, Jake still sends Ashley home — the girl who so eagerly dressed up as a flight attendant for Jake just last week — as well as Christina. I liked Christina but I think in both these girls' cases, there was a lack of chemistry and maybe a lack of the confidence needed to fly high with our main man.

What did you think of the episode? Should the show have been more strict — or maybe less? — with Rozyln's indiscretions? Do you think Jake sent home the right girls?

Watch Tuesday's edition of Hollywood 411 at 8/7c and 11/10c to see The Bachelor host Chris Harrison's inside perspective on the shocking elimination.

Premise: True love (or a TV facsimile thereof) gets the reality treatment in this long-running dating game, in which a successful bachelor romances a number of beauties. The list of possible paramours is reduced each week until he gives a final red rose to one of them. The series spun off 'The Bachelorette', a spate of rip-offs and very few lasting pairings.
