This new teen comedy is based on the 1999 film of the same name (which was already an adapted work, loosely based on Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew). Larry Miller is back as overprotective dad Walter Stratford, and he's surrounded by a new crop of kids, including Ethan Peck (grandson of Gregory Peck), who takes on the role of Patrick (played by Heath Ledger in the film). In the opener, Walter's two very different daughters — feminist Kat and social climber Bianca — begin life at a new high school.
