No less than 45 scripted shows await word on renewal as the networks prepare to reveal their plans for the 2009-10 season. Many of those shows are safe — would NBC really pull Law & Order? — but others may be endangered by low ratings, high production costs, or just being on the Peacock network, where Jay Leno takes over five hours of prime time in the fall.

It turns out that Sarah Connor was the one in need of protection, and not her son John. And Dollhouse? Its engagements may not have proved engaging enough.
The future doesn't look bright for Fox's experiment in relaunching a 'Sci Fi Friday" lineup. Poor ratings make it increasingly likely that Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will be powered down for good, and Dollhouse boss Joss Whedon admits that Echo & Co. are about to be imprinted with a "FIRED" stamp.
The show's odds of renewal are "not very good," Whedon told SciFiWire.com. "Obviously our numbers are pretty soft ... but we live in hope. I'm really proud of the episodes that are coming out. More than that, I can't really ask."

Ghost Whisperer dropped 880K from its last fresh outing, delivering 10.23 million total viewers. Trailing Wife Swap and Howie Do It, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles wrapped up its second season with 3.57 mil, up 220K.
9 pm
Flashpoint (9.72 mil) was up 11 percent, followed by Supernanny. Friday Night Lights' Season 3 finale played to an a crowd of 4.36 mil, surging 21 percent week-to-week. Dollhouse held steady at 3.58 mil (though "steady" in this case may not be the best thing).
10pm
Numbers added up 9.72 mil, down 330K from its last fresh outing.
