Episode Synopsis: A look at the link between the juvenile-justice system and dropout rate, which critics contend is exacerbated by the zero-tolerance approach to discipline practiced by many schools. Smiley meets with St. Louis Family Court Judge Jimmie Edwards, who founded an academy for troubled teens; LAUSD superintendent John Deasy; education advocate Charlaine DeWindt; two teens caught in the juvenile-justice system; and two sisters who challenged their expulsions from school for fighting.
