Dave Starsky and Ken Hutchinson are suspended from the police force when accused of taking bribes, coercion, assault and murder in "Starsky and Hutch Are Guilty." Two women and a police informant are brutally beaten by men witnesses say are Starsky and Hutch. The police commander of Internal Affairs, who disapproves of their sometime unorthodox tactics, jumps at the opportunity to investigate. The first victim dies. Starsky and Hutch are placed on suspension but re-fuse to turn in their badges. The second assault victim is found murdered and an all points bulletin is issued for the two. Starsky and Hutch manage to convince the third and only remaining victim, a prostitute, that whoever coerced her into accusing them in the first place -- is returning to kill all living witnesses. She is frightened and agrees to testify...this time leading police to one of their own ...the commander of Internal Affairs, who is just completing his latest book on police integrity!

The Velvet Jungle

An illegal alien, who witnesses a murder, refuses to cooperate with police for fear of deportation, as "The Velvet Jungle." A Mexican girl threatens to expose the illegal activities of the local chief of the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service, and she is soon murdered. Her roommate witnesses the killing, but can't go to police for fear of being deported. Starsky and Hutch corner one of the killers; but the government official arrives on the scene and shoots his cohort before their eyes -- claiming he actually saved their lives. In an attempt to catch the immigration official in a criminal act, Starsky and Hutch send a Latin policeman to his office in the guise of a crooked copy who wants a part of the illegal action. The time and place for the payoff is set in the city park where Starsky and Hutch are stationed in dis-guise - Hutch, in whiteface, as a mime, and Starsky, thrilling the kids, as Charlie Chaplin.

The Committee

A police death squad executes criminals who have received lenient court de-cisions in "The Committee." Starsky and Hutch capture a rapist but lose the chase to get his partner. They are surprised to see that the captured man is terrified that he will be shot instead of simply arrested. At the police station, a slick lawyer gets the criminal released on bail and Starsky is incensed. The released man's fears of being shot are somewhat justified when his partner on the loose is found executed in ritualistic gang-style. Once the police are suspected of the killing, Starsky is assigned to investigate undercover. Pretending to be furious over another early release -on bail, he gets into an argument with Hutch, slugs him and is suspended from the force. Later, the "maverick" Starsky is approached by the death squad. They offer him membership - but to prove himself he must execute the slick lawyer who got his accused rapist off in the first place. With their guns trained on him, he is given the man he must kill and a revolver containing one bullet.

A man whose son was killed in prison returns to get Dave Starsky for sending him there -- as "Starsky's Lady." George Prudholm returns (from earlier episodes) to avenge his son's death by killing people Starsky loves and, ultimately, Starsky himself. Prudholm sets the two up -- causing them to kill a nineteen year old robber. He rigs a shotgun to kill Hutch and, in his most bizarre attempt to date, shoots Starsky's girlfriend. The bullet lodges in her brain and, while released from the hospital, she is told that it is only a matter of time until the fragment moves. It does and she dies.

Survival

A sleazy racketeer, realizing that Hutch's testimony will send him to prison, hires a hit man to eliminate Hutch by forcing his car to crash in a canyon on "Starsky and Hutch." The episode marks David Soul's television directorial debut. In "Survival," Hutch sets himself up as the payoff man between mobster Vic Humphries and an Eastern syndicate in a hot car deal. At the rendezvous, Humphries double crosses Hutch and plans to kill him, but Starsky and the police arrive to arrest the racketeer. Humphies' lawyer posts his bail but they realize Hutch's testimony will convict the mobster. In desperation, Humphries hires a hit man who uses his own car as a battering ram to send Hutch's car crashing to the canyon floor where Hutch is left for dead.

The Psychic

An alcoholic with extra-sensory powers leads police to a kidnapping and murder as "The Psychic." The daughter of a wealthy baseball team owner is kidnapped. Starsky and Hutch follow a tip from Joe Callandra, a drunk with psychic powers, and discover a seemingly unrelated murder. The tipster's predictions prove to be accurate and the corpse is linked to the kidnapping. In following the kidnapper's instructions, Hutch is substituted for the missing girl's father during the money drop. Unfortunately, the kidnappers are killed in a gun battle -- before they re-veal the whereabouts of their victim. The liquor-soaked psychic is the only person who might be able to locate the girl before she is smelted in a blast furnace with a ton of scrap metal.

Bloodbath

His gamble leads him to a deserted zoo where Starsky has been tortured and is about In desperation, he studies the strange, sing-song symbolic language of the killer, hoping to find a clue and loc to be killed.

Little Girl Lost

A twelve year old baseball playing 'tomboy' attracts underworld attention because she knows the whereabouts of $100,000 in stolen diamonds as 'Little Girl Lost.' Starsky and Hutch pick up a ragamuffin girl for shoplifting sweetcakes, and while they are holding her, her father is killed by underworld gangsters just blocks away. In checking out her father's identity, Starsky and Hutch learn that the little girl is probably the only person alive who may know the whereabouts of $100,000 in stolen diamonds. Meanwhile, the gangland element tries to intercept the feisty twelve year old. One of the criminals disguises himself as a priest and takes her to a baseball game, and then unwittingly follows her to Hutch's apartment to collect!

Iron Mike

Starsky and Hutch's suspicions are aroused when they see a police captain with an extraordinary crime-fighting record accept an envelope from a racketeer. In "Iron Mike," after seeing Captain "Iron Mike" Ferguson take the envelope from shady entrepreneur Matt Coyle, the detectives suspect that the envelope contained payoff money and reluctantly decide to investigate. They are subsequently assigned to Ferguson's command and learn that he has received information about an impending holdup. Further unexplained tips to Ferguson lead them to a hideout, but in a shootout, Iron Mike is fatally wounded. Before he dies, he gives Starsky and Hutch a little black book that helps to explain how he had compiled his impressive arrest record and provides information that puts them on the trail of Coyle.

Nightmare

Starsky and Hutch arrest two hoodlums for the rape of a retarded 19-year-old friend of the detectives only to have the case dropped in the "Nightmare." Lisa Graham, a nineteen-year-old with the mental capabilities of a child of ten, is brutally assaulted and raped. Starsky and Hutch, friends of Lisa's late father, were on their way to Lisa's birthday party at the time, and are able to swiftly arrest the rapists and his cohort. However, at police headquarters, an ambitious assistant district attorney has the hoods immediately released on bail and plans a defense on the contention that Lisa invited the incident which took place in an out of service city bus. In a pre-trial hearing, the assistant district attorney gets the judge to consider dropping, the case for insufficient evidence. When Starsky and Hutch press for a conviction, they are accused of bias and the politically minded assistant D.A. proceeds with his plan to plea-bargain the matter to a close. Meanwhile, one of the released suspects decides that no crime can be prosecuted without a complaint and, therefore; Lisa Graham must die!
