E! Cooks Up New Soup

E! is offering a new Soup on its menu.Following the success of Joel McHale's The Soup, the network is planning to expand its franchise with the addition of Sports Soup, Variety reports.Set to premiere on sister channel Versus, Sports Soup will do — or at least hope to do — to sports what The Soup does to pop culture in the same format to boot.Comedian and Clean House host Matt Iseman will host the skewering program and offer an "undistorted glimpse into sports," Marc Fein, Versus executive vice president of programming production and business operations, said.Sports Soup will premiere Oct. 14 at 10 pm/ET.Can Iseman match McHale barb-for-barb? — Joyce EngCheck out clips from The Soup in our Online Video Guide.  read full article

Joel McHale Talks Fox's "Spaghetti Cat" Flub

Whether or not you were lucky enough to see Fox's feline faux pas, watching The Soup's take of the clip makes it that much more funny. During a serious binge drinking segment on the Morning Show with Mike and Juliet, producers cut to a random image of a cat eating spaghetti mid-interview and the show continued with no acknowledgement about what was just shown. Even Joel McHale couldn’t keep a straight face for that one! Update: Fox has stated this photo is a "bleep photo" used for when someone says someone says something inappropriate, and that this was intentionally done. read more

Here's a good laugh to start your Monday out on the right foot. In this clip from The Soup, no matter how hard she tried, this Price Is Right contestant couldn't grasp the whole concept of smart bidding (come on, everyone knows the "bid a dollar higher than the last person" trick!). But the worst part was watching every time she used her "strategic tactics" — she would be halfway up the stage before realizing she didn't win! read more

Video website YouTube has crawled into bed with E! for its first big (cable) network tie-in, Variety reports. The cabler will solicit clips for its "CyberSmack!" segment of The Soup through the site and, quid-pro-quo style, allow the site to broadcast "CyberSmack!" videos. read more
