McLean Stevenson (M*A*S*H), Terry O'Quinn (Lost), Leslie Hope (24)
We really should've known better. We waited two weeks for Brothers & Sisters' "shocking death," when all along we should have realized that what the network had been teasing for weeks (months even, among insiders) in the end wasn't all that shocking — especially when it didn't even really happen.
Oh well, maybe we're all patsies. But to make ourselves feel better, after the jump are the TV deaths that actually delivered a gutshot and had us talking about a character's demise the next day — for all the right reasons.

Edie Falco, Nurse Jackie
In Nurse Jackie, Edie Falco said she had much more input into her character than she did while starring as Carmella Soprano.
It wasn't that The Sopranos writers didn't welcome her ideas: "They were totally open to input, but I didn't have any," Falco told TVGuide.com. "Partially because I wasn't used to looking at it that way, but also because we were all so in-sync. Every line that they wrote for her was right on."

The Sopranos — The Complete Series
Bada bing! At long last, the seedy adventures of Tony Soprano & Co. finally arrive on shelves in one complete package. While we could argue about the merits of the show all day (and don't even get us started on that ending), the No. 1 question in every consumer's mind as it relates to this set is the price tag. Is this beautifully and carefully designed package really worth $400 bucks? Like most things in David Chase's world, the answer is a bit complicated ...

If one were to compare Life on Mars' Detective Ray Carling to The Sopranos' Christopher, one big diff would be the gents' temperament. "[Ray's] center of gravity is a little different," Michael Imperioli says in this video Q&A. "He's a police officer, so he can't let his emotions run rampant," as his Sopranos alter ego did (often to his own detriment).
Watch the video to get much more from Imperiolo, after the jump.

Question: Remember back at the 1999 Emmy awards, when the year's most critically acclaimed cable series lost the Outstanding Drama Series trophy to a David E. Kelley legal series? Well, brace yourself, because nine years later, it's going to happen again. The only difference: This year's critically-acclaimed gem is not The Sopranos (it's Mad Men), and the Kelley series is not The Practice (it's Boston Legal). Anybody who thinks that Boston Legal doesn't have a serious shot at winning TV's biggest award is about to get a big surprise come September when the awards are handed out. Mark my words — it's going to happen. Best to start preparing yourselves now.
Answer: Thanks, pal, for ruining my Monday. But maybe your dredging up one of the more embarrassing moments in Emmy history will remind everyone how awful it would be should they repeat it. (Not that The Practice didn't deserve its earlier wins; just not in the year that introduced The Sopranos to TV. ...

Blu-ray Disc
Next week, and just in time for Father's Day (Sunday, June 15th), Wal-Mart is making it much easier to afford a high-definition Blu-ray player! The original standard DVD format went on sale in the United States back in 1997, and consumers quickly shifted over to the new format from VHS. But in 1998, HDTVs went on sale, and every year since then the high definition sets have gained in popularity. But something was missing...hi-def on home video! While DVD was noticeably better than VHS, it was noticeably not-as-good as the hi-def broadcasts of TV shows and films that people could get from cable, satellite and over-the-air HD. Folks clamored for an HD home video format, and by February 2008 the Sony-developed Blu-ray Disc ("BD") format had just won a bitter hi-def format war. But at the time, prices of a BD player started at $400, and typically ran quite a bit higher.Beginning this coming Sunday, June 8th, Wal-Mart is kicking off their newly remodeled electronics departments in their st...
