Somerset on NBC

This soap spin-off from `Another World' sent a trio of Bay City players to a town 50 miles away, where they tangled with the ritzy Delaney dynasty until a new production team took over. That's when the nutty Moores emerged, along with a poison-toting clown (played by stage vet Lois Smith) who haunted their gothic estate. The plot was a creepy-enough distraction from the clan's other tired affairs and infidelities, which were soon bumped for `Lovers and Friends,' another `AW' clearinghouse.
