So You Think You Can Dance Episode Recap: The Final 4 Revealed Season 5, Episode 20

In what has to be the most unkind cut of the entire season, we whittle our number down by two to reveal the Final 4. Did your favorites make it this far? Who will be dancing for the title of America's favorite dancer? I'll give you a little hint...okay, no I won't. All will be revealed later.

I'm enjoying Cat's sparkly dress but not the slightly severe updo.

Group Dance: Top 6 Dancers
Choreographer/Dance: Tyce Diorio/Broadway
Title/Artist: "Send in the Clowns"/Judy Collins
Performance: Strange and interesting. Nice acrobatics. It's refreshing that the piece is slower because we can watch everything as it unfolds. There's just enough for the eye to focus on. Great technique. Everyone is shining here. I liked the use of the box as a prop. Totally worked.

Tonight we'll be seeing the four Emmy nominated pieces from last year. Yay! I can't freakin' wait. Oh yeah, and the results. I might be just a little tiny bit more excited about the Emmy nominated performances then I am to learn the results. Is that wrong?  So... who's in the finale?

JEANINE
Either Melissa or Kayla is in trouble and both will be performing their solos. What do the judges think? Mary and Lil C give Jeanine a standing ovation. Lil C calls her worthy indeed. It's survival of the fittest, the most open-minded, the most dedicated, the hungriest. She deserves this.

Emmy-nominated routine: Jessica and Will
Choreographer/Dance: Tyce Diorio/Contemporary
Title/Artist: "Silence"/Unfaithful (soundtrack)
Performance: I'm really not sure there are words. Just as amazing — if not more so — than I remember. I think Jessica may have finally gained the confidence she seemed to lack last year. I'm loving Will's hair. Well, I'm loving everything about Will. Beautifully done. Loved it.

And... who else is in the finale?

BRANDON
Either Ade or Evan is in trouble and both will be performing their solos. What do the judges think? Mary's on her feet once again. To think that certain people, who shall remain nameless — Mia and Lil C — didn't think he belonged in the Top 20. She's always believed in him. He's been proving himself every single week. Mary asks him to dance with everything he's got from his heart

Emmy-nominated routine: Katee and Twitch
Choreographer/Dance: Mia Michaels/Contemporary
Title/Artist: "Mercy"/Duffy
Performance: I'm not enjoying it as much as I did last year but they are still amazing. Twitch has added some serious muscle to his frame. Wow. I can't be mad at that although he doesn't seem quite as fluid here as we've been him in the past. Katee remains amazing. Still loved it.

Emmy-nominated routine: Chelsie and Joshua
Choreographer/Dance: Dmitry Chaplin/Argentine tango
Title/Artist: "A Los Amigos"/Forever Tango (original Broadway cast album)
Performance: It seems sexier. Joshua is so powerful. I remember thinking he was throwing her around a bit too much last year and I kind of feel the same way now. I'm not complaining, just observing.  Chelsie is all technique and working that dress. Still hot. Still happy that Joshua is America's favorite dancer from last season.

Solos
Melissa
Title/Artist: "I Put a Spell on You"/Nina Simone
I really enjoyed this piece last night and I'm still enjoying it now. I'm a big fan of this ballerina.

Ade
Title/Artist: "18th Floor Balcony"/Blue October
A little different than yesterday. Some nice technique. His acrobatics are always impressive but why does he run to the back of the stage at the end of his piece just to do that flip? I didn't love that part.

Featured dance group: America's Best Dance Crew's JabbaWockeeZ
Title/Artist: "Freak-A-Zoid"/Midnight Star
Performance: Freaky and cool. Their synchronicity is unreal. This is a great group routine. I don't mind that we can't see their faces, I think it just adds to the enjoyment of the piece. Nice levels. Great use of the music. Very nice stops and slo-mo moves. So cool. I'm loving it. That was amazing.

Emmy-nominated routine: Chelsie and Mark
Choreographer/Dance: NappyTabs/Hip-hop
Title/Artist: "Bleeding Love"/Leona Lewis
Performance: I heart Mark and his quirkiness. It's so nice seeing him and Chelsie dancing together again. It's just a heartbeat away from being as amazing as I remembered. Still awesome. Loved it.

More solos

Kayla
Title/Artist: "You Found Me"/The Fray
Still way too much going on in this piece. She's showing some vulnerability, but not in a good way. I agree with quite a few of you who called this solo desperate. Maybe she feels like she needs to prove something but I think she should take a deep breath and dance from her heart.

Evan
Title/Artist: "Lady Is a Tramp"/Sammy Davis, Jr.
So incredible and enjoyable in his own style. Fun. Great character. Loved it again.

Featured musical performance: Reggae Superstar Sean Paul singing "So Fine." He's got dancers, which is always nice to see on a dance show. That's all I have to say.

Who else is going to the finale?

KAYLA
Mary's on her feet again. efore Cat reveals the final guy in the final, she asks for Nigel's thoughts. He says the only losers this week are the dance world because they lost avant-garde choreographer Merce Cunningham. They've lost so much rich talent during the course of the show but there are no losers here.

The final guy?

EVAN
What do our two departing dancers have to say? Melissa says she did things on this show she never thought she'd do. She's so proud of herself. She wishes luck to all the ballerinas out there. Ade will remember being on the stage. Oh, it's so cute that he's emotional. He loves everyone out there for supporting him.

Your final four are: Jeanine, Brandon, Kayla, and Evan. I think the finale is going to be amazing. I can't wait to see what these dancers do next week.
