So You Think You Can Dance Episode Recap: Top 10 Revealed Season 5, Episode 15

Who has made it into the Top 10? After the opportunity to impress us and the judges with two dances each, let's see who still has a chance to be crowned America's Favorite Dancer.

But first, the group dance.

Choreographer/Genre: NappyTabs/Hip-Hop
Title/Artist: "Seven Nation Army"/The White Stripes
Performance: Cool opening with the military-like precision. Nice tricks. There is a lot to watch and quite frankly not all of it is superb dancing. I would have liked to see quite a few people hitting it harder. But overall, still pretty enjoyable. I must admit to enjoying these group dances more as the numbers dwindle because I like to focus on just a few people. Is that weird?

Nigel is 60? Although he says no to Botox I'm not sure I believe him.

Cat asks Nigel if there is any truth that the show will be doing a Michael Jackson tribute. Bad news. Either Sony or Michael's estate won't clear the music. I'm kind of disappointed. That would have been pretty awesome.

How does Mary feel about losing control of who ultimately goes home each week? She has mixed emotions. She's happy with the job they've done so far but she reminds us that we need to pick up the phones for our favorite dancers now. That remind me, did you vote last night? Now more than ever it's important to pick up that phone. End of lecture.

Cat asks Tyce how it was for the dancers to perform twice last night. He tells her they didn't sign up for a vacation and he expects them to be warriors.

Who will be dancing for their lives?

Caitlin and Jason: I'm not surprised. Although I've seen an improvement with Caitlin over the last few weeks Jason might have some worrying to do.
Mary's reaction: They haven't had the magic since the Bollywood piece. They can't afford to hold anything back.
Jeanine and Phillip: Again, I'm not surprised but I do think Phillip should be scared. I know they love Jeanine so it will be very interesting to see how this goes.
Nigel's reaction: They don't look on the results in a negative sense. They know the results the morning of the show and they take into account everything the dancers have done and decide who they're going to keep based on that. However, the dancers can change their minds when they dance for their lives.
Me again: I'm not sure why Nigel just shared that with us. It detracts from the "magic" of television for me.

Melissa and Ade: I'm beyond shocked but this type of thing makes for really good television. Wow. I'm not even worried though. They'll be fine.
Tyce's reaction: Feels like Ade dropped the ball in terms of energy just a little. Good is not enough. You can do this. Dig in.

And every Thursday from now until the end of this season will bring highlights from Season 6, which starts in the fall. We know already! There is no need to entice us. We'll be watching won't we?

The solos:

Caitlin
"Stand By Me"/Playing for Change
She made it really fun but maybe that's an advantage of being in the bottom again. I enjoyed it. Nice tricks and techniques.

Jason
"Calm Touching"/Evaline
I like that he's shirtless and he's trying not to hold back but he might be throwing too many tricks in. Not a bad effort but I didn't love it.

Jeanine
"Baby's Romance"/Chris Garneau
Nice control. I enjoy here solos although the bottom isn't a great place to be.

Phillip
"The Diva Dance"/The Fifth Element (soundtrack)?
Always amazing in his own style. Really fun to watch. It's amazing what he can get his body to do. Much stronger solo than last week. Very nice job.

Melissa
"Kashira"/Kodo
Very interesting to see a ballet solo. I'm into it and I absolutely adore her. Fun to watch and it looks like she's having fun.

Ade
"Windowdipper"/Jib Kidder
Nice technique on display but I'm not loving it for some reason. Great energy and impressive acrobatics.

I guess there's no featured performer of the week. I'm ok with it.

Musical Performer: Kelly Rowland with DJ David Guetta performing "When Love Takes Over." Dancers? Eventually. Enough said.

The results:

They are unanimous on their decision about the girl and the guy going home tonight. They think all six dancers are brilliant. Every one of the Top 10 needs to be a star and they need to start doing it now.

Caitlin is going home. I'm not surprised but I'm a little sad. I'm really glad Jeanine and Melissa get to stay and show us more.

Phillip is going home. I'm not surprised but the good news is that he and Caitlin will be on the tour. I feel like that's huge because it's a guaranteed paycheck for the summer. Good for both of them.

What did you think? Are you happy with this year's Top 10?

Don't forget to vote for your favorite dancer in the poll below and check back next week for the latest batch of Power Rankings.
