Episode 17 Recap: "10 Dancers on the Stage, Two Fall Off" Season 3, Episode 17

Tonight is the first results show of the top 10. From here on out, all the eliminated dancers will be on tour in the fall. The rules on how this part of the competition work are pretty straightforward: The bottom two male and female dancers will perform a solo and then the male and female dancer with the lowest vote totals go home. The voting is from Wednesday night's performance. A drumroll, please, for the ladies' results, which are as follows: Sabra, Lacey and Sara are safe. Jaimie and Lauren will now need to dance a solo. A trumpet fanfare, please, for the gentlemen's results: Neil, Danny and Pasha are safe. Dominic and Kameron will need to dance a solo. After 6.5 million votes, we are saying goodbye to Jaimie and Kameron. Did you see Kameron's and Pasha's reactions? They were shocked at the results. It seemed like Pasha expected to be in the bottom and Kameron expected to be safe. Am I surprised that both Dom and Kameron were in the bottom two? Not really. Am I surprised that Kameron is going home? Not really. I've felt for weeks now that Kameron is just not standing out. I think he made it this far because he was hitched to Lacey. As for Jaimie, I'm actually indifferent to her departure. For some reason I find Jaimie and Lauren interchangeable. Maybe it's a lack of personality, I'm not sure. I really didn't like the opening number; I thought it only catered to Danny's strengths. There was a closeup shot of him where he had a very smug look on his face. Also, his outfit was so different from everyone else's that it was made him stand out. On the flip side, I think that the routine actually matched the song selection today. The dancers on the whole did a good job of interpreting the song. What do you guys think of Wade's choreography from Wednesday night? Was it inappropriate or disrespectful? On a more personal note, I am not a staff writer or editor for TV Guide. I am an employee in the online group, and I consider it a privilege and a perk to be allowed to blog about TV shows. I also don't have the dance background that Sabrina has, which results in a different approach. I am merely reporting as a fan of the show. I don't mind feedback and criticism, in fact I welcome it. I just request that you make it constructive. If you think something needs improvement, please let me know, whether in an e-mail or via the comments on the blog. show less
