Revelations

Apr 23, 1999 Season 4 Episode 22

The Sliders land in a barren field outside some small town, primed for another adventure… until they learn that they are stuck on this world for 26 days. Several days later, boredom and frustration set in: Quinn and Colin resort to tinkering with a truck at a deserted gas station. Maggie, the only Slider to have found a paying job in this desolate place, returns from her waitressing job -- she was fired. Rembrandt scavenges some reading material, and as they all relax, he pores over a science fiction novel. He points out some similarities between it and their adventures: inter-dimensional travel, Kromagg-like creatures; and a biological weapon developed to destroy them. Believing that this world may be more interesting than originally thought, Quinn researches the author, but finds he is a recluse who lives up in the mountains. The Sliders find the cabin, and after noticing some activity, knock at the door. Catherine turns them away, but when they reveal they are inter-dimensional travelers, her father, Isaac Clark -- the book's author -- wants to hear their story. After their story is finished, Catherine ridicules them -- but Isaac believes them. After all, he knew Quinn and Colin's parents.

Rembrandt prepares to leap -- but Maggie grabs his arm, trying to calm him, telling him to remember how this all began...Several hours earlier, when the Sliders first land on this world, they hear a scream coming from a cave. They rush into the cave to find a frightened girl, Amy (Antoinette Picatto), whose tormented grandfather Henry (Harrison Young) is preparing to leap into the chasm. After he tells her that this duty will soon be hers, he jumps, and a bolt of electricity shoots from his body into Amy's. Lipschitz Live

Nov 30, 1998 Season 4 Episode 13

A vortex appears and releases Quinn, then reappears elsewhere to drop off Colin, then leaves Rembrandt and Maggie dangling from a window-washing unit hundreds of feet above ground. The two climb to safety, and even see Colin wandering the street, far below -- but lose track of him, once they reach the ground. Quinn, meanwhile, heads for the hotel, hoping to meet the others in the three hours they have before the next slide. On the way, he notes a society mindlessly devoted to the only show on television: "Lipschitz Live,": a combination newscast/talk show, hosted by the irrepressible Barry Lipschitz. At the hotel, Quinn does not find his friends, but does note that two corporations are hosting some sort of reception there. He waits in the bar, hoping the others will soon arrive. Maggie and Rembrandt likewise head to the hotel, but find, as Quinn did, that there are no vacancies. They do discover, however, that a Colin Mallory has checked in, so they sneak into his room -- and find clothing and liquor bottles strewn about the suite. Meanwhile, Colin arrives at the hotel, and sees Quinn waiting in the bar. As he heads to his brother, he is grabbed by two thugs who drag him away; Quinn does not notice.

The Dying Fields

Aug 31, 1998 Season 4 Episode 12

The image of a peaceful, Garden of Eden world is shattered when the Sliders find the skeleton of a human, a gaping hole in the chest and the right hand missing. A noise in the bushes causes them to hide, and they soon see another man being pursued by two Hu-Maggs -- part human, part Kromagg. Kyra, the female Hu-Magg, blasts the running man. Kryoptus, the male Hu-Magg, argues that the kill was his, but Kyra tallies it as her own. She refuses to take the eyes, however, saying she has not developed a taste for them. After they leave, the Sliders examine the body, with Colin discovering the man's army knife. They soon come upon a firing range but take cover when a Humvee passes by, carrying General Kronos. Ever fearful of Kromaggs, Rembrandt is in favor of killing him. When they spy a rifle protruding from a doorway, they react quickly. They capture Jenny, who tells them she and six other humans were forced into this "game." If they survive twenty days, the Kromaggs will let them go; she is on day eighteen.

The Sliders land in world that seems idyllic -- until black clouds form and people scramble for cover. The Sliders soon learn why: the rain is acid rain. They take shelter in the Chandler Hotel, but are alarmed to see guests rushing out to brave the rain, rather than spend a night there. The overly-friendly clerk, Kelly, gladly checks the Sliders into the Presidential suite at a discount price; the hotel has a hard time keeping rooms booked. As the Sliders settle in Colin elects to stay in the room as the others convene in the bar for a drink. There, Kelly turns up again, this time as their barmaid. Meanwhile, up in the room Colin watches TV, and is startled to see a little boy appear in the room. The boy speaks, but there is no sound, and Colin follows him down the hall, only to see the boy walk through a closed door into room 315. Later that night, as Rembrandt shaves, a message appears in the steamy mirror: "Help us." At the same time, Maggie sees a stranger using some device near their doorway, but continues on to the ice machine. When she opens it, she sees her head, buried in the ice.

Just Say Yes

Jul 13, 1998 Season 4 Episode 7

As the Sliders land in a new world, Quinn and Maggie continue an argument that started before they jumped. A hotel bar patron, Damon, takes note of the bickering couple and offers to help. When they ignore him, he pulls a pistol out and shoots Maggie with a tranquilizer dart. Realizing that Maggie has been drugged, Quinn rushes Damon. He tries to shoot Quinn, but accidentally hits Colin, who assumes a happy stupor. Quinn wrests the gun away, then finds that Maggie has wandered away. Rembrandt stays with Colin as Damon follows Quinn out. They find her dancing in the street, but suddenly she goes into a seizure. Damon, a licensed "Facilitator" who keeps people correctly dosed, helps Quinn take her to a local clinic where Helena examines Maggie. Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?

Jul 06, 1998 Season 4 Episode 6

The Sliders finally reach the world of Quinn's brother but only have two hours to find him. They soon see a glider crash into some trees, and Colin Mallory steps from the wreckage. The Sliders are forced to defend him when a group of farmers tries to kill him. Sheriff Dawson arrives to stop the brawl, and allows the Sliders to take Colin away. Colin, the resident genius of this technology-deficient world, is oblivious to the townspeople's hatred of him. Most residents believe his inventions are works of the devil, but he has won the heart of the lovely Susannah, against the wishes of her Mother. When Quinn breaks the news that they are brothers, Colin finds it difficult to believe --until, after tearing up Colin's home in a search, Quinn finds the microdot, and places it on his brother's forehead. Colin is given the same images Quinn had accepted, from their birth parents on a parallel world. With minutes ticking down to the next slide, Quinn finally coaxes Colin into joining them on the quest for their parents' world. The group slides into a normal-looking Los Angeles which Colin finds fascinating. They check into the hotel, where their request to pay cash is considered unusual, in a society which charges everything to your DNA or bone graft account.

Maggie scares the dogs off with the help of a shotgun she finds in a pawn shop, and the Sliders head to Quinn's home. They find it empty like everywhere else. While Quinn continues to search the house, Rembrandt and Maggie wait outside -- and are approached by the disheveled Quinn of this world. At first frantic -- he has been totally alone -- he calms down enough to explain that he built a machine that, when he threw the switch, wiped out every human being on Earth.

Virtual Slide

Jun 22, 1998 Season 4 Episode 4

The Sliders land in a demolition site, and Maggie is caught near an explosion. She seems to revive in a hospital -- then revives again, healthy but confused, in a military complex. General Randall Simmons informs her that she and the others have indeed landed on Quinn's home world, Earth Prime, which has finally vanquished the Kromaggs. Simmons explains that they landed in a pocket of Kromagg resistance, but otherwise Earth has been liberated, and scientists have mastered the Kromagg's sliding technology. Quinn and Rembrandt are excited about this news, but Maggie has grown suspicious and challenges Simmons' claims. The scene shimmers, and Maggie wakes in the hospital, as Simmons -- a businessman, not a general -- removes a virtual reality set from her head. It is the preferred method of therapy on this perfect world, he tells her, though she seems to have an aversion to pleasant thoughts.
